Ignition Lead holders (rare part)

Postby RS EDDIE on Sat Oct 26, 2013 9:14 pm

Thought id give this a bash to help out a few people.

Im seeing how much interest i get in making a batch of the metal ignition lead brackets that the plastic holder screws into.

Ive had a quick fiddle around in my boredom and it seems easy enough to do. I know this part is a bit of a rare bit to have but ive just tested my "Trial" piece and it seems to be near on exact to an original.

What you think??.....

The final ones will be a slightly thicker gauge metal and will be powdercoated satin black. The ridge in the original doesnt serve any purpose but i will try to make them with a ridge if people want.

Cost wise depends on the price of metal the powdercoating and the time it takes (which i doubt would amount to any more than £10 each), but ill have to see prices of the above before offering them at a firm price, and obviously post pics of the finished item. :D

looks fine to me Ed and I'll take 1 :D

Could I just suggest Fabrication from either stainless or aluminium for longevity?

At the end of the day its never actually going to be visible to anyone or in you and Shaun's case concours judges as its under the plastic :D

The ridge would serve to make it stronger ed, pointless in a way as it don't take much weight lol

Its funny to see this thread, as I came across 2 spare lead holders with the metal bits in my shed about a month ago and though about doing what your doing and knocking some up lol I should of been quicker :bonkers:
