Head light photos

Postby Norbertas on Fri Oct 09, 2009 10:26 am

Hi, thought about making a topic with pictures of different light bulbs on, in your cars. For others to see and decide what product to choose, as even same company produces 5-10 types of bulbs. Because most now think of getting better view or white light with better standard bulbs or xenons but do not know what would the effect be. Also maybe you got negative feedback on some products(too weak light or blinding cars in front of you). Think that would help to see, how a car would look like for others (one of the aims of styling). The posting would be like this:
1. Sidelamp type (LED or standard), picture (with only sidelamps on), comment (if you want)
2. Head lights bulbs model (Xenon, standard (phillips and type, osram type, etc) other mod), picture (with head lights on , next with dipp lights on), comments.
3. Same can be with for lights, rear lights, other indicating lights.

The problem is that with most photos you won't see a huge amount of difference, and you wont be able to guage how good they are/aren't on the road (i.e how far you can see).

Project did an excellent test years ago headlights-vt76998/ but then moved it to his site which is now gone

He took photos at night and measured the beam distance and all sorts.

Autoexpress have done lots of tests, scroll down to bulb test http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/products/p ... order=name

Nice tests, seen them before, but it would be interesting to see it on fiestas. Seems just will have to go to shop and try those in place. Thinking of getting nice white light without xenons

Can't really tell very well but these are LED sidelights, just the sides, no headlights on cos I took the relay out. They're "xenon white"

I'm sure they would be safe, just have in mind, that led lights are used only for side lights.
For head lights there are still no so powerfull leds. Olso leds do not make any high temperatures, so no damage to plastics would appear.
Its just "xenon effect" but not xenons.

6500k HID's in Projector lenses:

The beam pattern on the wall, this was just as I switched them on, with the white balance on the camera completely off:

And the light emitted onto the road (white balance set correctly):

From your last photo you'll see why I got rid of mine. They're bright, but they just spread light everywhere.
