shiftelec :corect me if im wrong was it not a 17mm spaner to undo it?
what it is, its a stud, you screw it into the housing by hand, connect the downpipe up and screw a 17mm nut onto it.
i can pm my address if its ok?

lol the stud is 10mm thread which is a 17mm spanner/socket which u use to undo it the stud its self should be like an exhaust manifold stud threaded at both ends and a shank in the middle, which do you need a die nut or the taps?????

the thread is buggered in the housing, i try and screw a perfect exhaust stud into it and i can turn it a little and it wont move.
sorry not sure of the term "die nut"

you have a tap and die, the tap you use to put a thread in a hole a die is used to put a thread on a bit of bar so you need the tap.
bear in mind its a corse thread mate.
just to throw a spanner in the works the nut on the studs on my FRST and the 1 i stripped and a FRST i got turbo from the other month had 19mm nuts on them
i got a thread gauge and 3 T2's in the shed, if you want i will tell you the size and TPI so you know what thread to put in it.
oh yeah, dont break the tap or your be in the shi t
