what do you think guys?? im looking at the focus tdci, has to be a 3 door, i just want your opinions on whether you think both are a bit overpriced as i think they might be? and what one you prefer? theres a link to ebay and one i copied from autotrader, only prob is the one on ebay is in wales :x the other 19 miles away :D

i am after the version with heated screens and heated/leather seats, im not sure if this is the zetec, ghia or sport version that does this? if you can spread a little light on this :-?

anyway post your views :D

The missus's mate has got a rare 18k 04 imperial blue 3 door tdci sport and she was offered £8,200 when she went for a trade in on a focus st two weeks ago.
The guy at ford said these cars hold there value :-?

Dealers pay alot tho then want alot when selling on.

The clio sports ive been looking at with renault are grossley over what they sell for private. e.g 2004 Sport = £10,000+
Private £7900-8500.

Diesels always do hold there value because everyone wants one :D

The thing that gets me with diesels is they usually cost more, and the fuel is slightly higher.... so the mpg differences would be shortened some what. What I'm trying to get at, is maybe you should get a petrol?

Ok to back up my statement....
Franchise Dealer price for a 1.8 Diesel Focus 2003 Zetec is £1295 more than a 1.6 Petrol Zetec.
If you use the supplied figures of 51mpg diesel, and 40mpg petrol, and that diesel costs 4p more than petrol, I would estimate that you need to do over 70,000 miles before you start to make a saving.
I haven't taken into account the higher resale cost of the diesel, but I'm saying that is negligable if you kept it for long enough.
Thank you :)

my 2L focus petrol does about 27 - 33 mpg on average.
No longer a FRST owner, or even a Fiesta owner :(
