the impression i got when they were in the for sale section, was they were a direct fit, or is that just bad memory?

I was under that impression too but there not a direct fit. spacers will be needed as stated - probably 2 washers should do it :(

I am sure he said you'd need to enlarge the holes to 12mm.
Thanks for the info about the spacers though!

Now what about ST170???

Nothing needed for ST170, apart from enlarging the holes.

Oh, apart from the large wheels!

I dummy-fitted mine briefly tonight, and they appear to bolt straight on with no faffing around whatsoever :)

So, anyone able to give advice about how these can be put on?
:-?
Did you fit them on Heeman? Were spacers needed? etc...

Fittin the 278mm mondeo discs (278*47*24) and the Mondeo/cougar V6 callipers (also the 278mm ones, the 260mm ones won't fit) . .

Cos4x4 calipers (sierra/escos) or Scorpio cos are the same.

In stead of needing to space out the calliper 6mm (needed for the cos4x4 discs which are 278*36*24)

you have to space out the disc about 4 - 5mm
This can be done without loss of the centring ring of the hub.. which centres your wheel onto the hub.

Needed:
- Mondeo/cougar V6 calliper (or escos/sierracos4x4/Scorpiocos)
- 278mm Mondeo/cougar discs
- 4 or 5mm wheelspacers with 4*108 and 63,5 or 65mm centre hole
- 5mm longer wheelstuds are recommended

You need to machine down the wheel spacers to 130mm diameter...
Now fit in the following order

- fit the spacer
- Fit the disc over the spacer
- fit the calliper (incl bleeding etc)
- Fit the wheel
