Fiesta XR2i - Cosworth stopping power !
or go to ford and order a set of mk3.5 electric mirror trims.
they were fitted to rs1800 and si's as options so are availiable!
is a very good mod to do, as rhino said the escort mirrors internal are exactly the same and are alot easier and cheaper (scrapyard) to find, had mine on for over a year now and soo easy avoiding a curb with them!

Never been a problem for me!

Cheers for the replies fellas.
I Will definalty go fords and order those mk3.5 inner trims.
The guide should be done by next month - Andy is on the case
As for reaching for adjuster - taking seat belt off everytime and leaning over passenger to adjust mirror then parking done my head in, hence i wanted to fit leccy mirrors.
Im looking into fitting some ford alloys. Fox evo 6 are ok but dont cut the mustard... so to speak. I got some Fiesta Rs turbo alloys but they need a clean and new tyres. May put them on to see how they look. I dont really want mondy alloys or gti ones.
Could i have some suggestions on alloys - and dont say cossie as i dont want the hassle - 15's are the biggest i would fit with 195/45
Sted : Do you mean the alloy pipe which connects the pipercross filter to the xr2i air intake ? If thats what you mean it came with the pipercross induction kit for the xr2i cvh.

Looking good mate, i looked into getting the mk3.5 inners but the numpty at the ford l=plce near me couldn't find them on microcat, will try another dealer,
i cut those to fit my door cards and they were snug but with a small gap(only temp)
As mentioned escort mirrors fit as well inside, and i'm also looking into useing mk5 escort ones if you have the old bus mirrors lol
The guide or one version of it will be up soon, it will be this version that uses the old loom from the early fiesta not the later one with the twist lock plug, i still have to sort that one out,
Glad to see it working
and knuckles you jammy sod for getting em so cheap

Would someone be happy to photoshop them on my car ?

Or some pics of these wheels .....
Sted: Your xr2i 1.8 has to have the air filter on the right ... it cant use the 1.6 cvh air intake which goes left as it is totally different fitting and doesn't have the air flow sensor which the 1.8 zetec has.

Andy : £20 for both electric mirrors is a bit of a bargain , couldn't say no after you spotted them

Update.....
Finally got rid of that chrome rocker cover , and purchased some magnacor leads along with the powder coated rocker cheers nomad
I want to fit some silicone hoses to finish it off , what colour would go best ?
Red ? Black ? Roose or samco .....
I have got a new heat shield to go on if i can ever get those rusty bolts off.
Cheers

I would go for roose red hoses mate and with regards to the heatsheild if you use an impact driver the rusted bolts should come straight out.
I have a beadblasted and primerd xr2i fan housing for sale if your interested mate as well as some other xr2i 8 valve parts for sale.
Oh and what happend to the chrome cover is it for sale/swap?

Ghost :thought you were going to wait
The cam kit is getting fitted this weekend, plus you know im not a patient person

These are the finishing touch for the rear ...

Cheers max.
I am going to wire up the reverse so it comes on on the right hand side. i get too many people swear at me for going backwards with a fog light on.....

I have been quoted £160 for roose motorsport hoses for the xr2i - which includes all coolant and breather hoses.
Or £75 just for coolant hoses.

Aparently the kit for £160 has 9 hoses.
And yes , £75 for the coolant hoses.
im still undecided on the colour. I dont want to go overboard with red everywhere.

I had the kent cam fitted today.
Runs so smooth.
I got someone proper to do it this time , not a dodgy bloke who couldnt give a monkeys.
Replaced radiator
Drained coolant and filled up with super antifreeze
Fitted camshaft with standard pully and original valve springs but renewed lifters.
New oil seal with new thrust plate.
New timing belt
Only done 2 miles after fiting so i will see how it runs tomorrow.

You should use the Kent springs as well as they are of a higher spring rate to prevent valve float at high rpm.

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

Passenger one i got from fords - around £6
I managed to get the drivers side from a FT member as ford have discontinued the one side. Good old ford thinking
Next purchase is the mk3 heated front screen loom. Thanks jay
1. Fuse box relay and connector
2. Heated screen connectors
3. 2 in-line 30amp fuses with red positive connection
4. heated screen switch plug
5. Fuse box connections.

Its been quite a while now since my last update. Been too busy working on other peoples cars to sort my own out.
Anyway i have managed to get rid of my fox wheels and replace them with something a bit more filling
...................
Some angle grinding had to be done to the rear shock cups and 5mm spacers for the rear.
Fronts need some spacers too as the inner tyre rubs the anti roll linkage bolts.
The wheels are ET40 with 195/45/16 tyres
How does it look now

I'm afraid as much as I love the Escort GTI/Mondeo Si alloys, I really don't like black wheels, you just don't see them...because they're black!
What I do like is the red car colour...black wheels...red caliper contrasts
