Not sure of the colour id do it.

Just go with what others do and do the whole floor with stonechip, paint grey.

Re: Ok here goes the resto!!!!!!!UPDATED
Thanks for the comments fellas.
Just got in from the garage having given the underneath 2 coats of rubberised stonechip. It looks very good if i do say so myself, couldnt wait to put on a bit of merc grey to see how it will look, so applied a few bits like under the front arch, where the liner goes. My compressor makes it sooo much easier and well worth the local Ebay find!!!! Only a year old!!!
In my opinion, it looks shiit hot, and original aswell albeit a bit more consistent than fords did it originally!!!
Updates to follow and when i can buy more underseal.
Many thanks again!!!

Re: Ok here goes the resto!!!!!!!UPDATED
Right....Little update with pics....
These are some pics of the underneath how it was for the last few years.

Started to strip back the underseal with a hot gun and pound shop 1" scraper....

The middle of the car isnt too bad to do to be fair...Its when it gets to the outer sides and in the nooks and crannies that it becomes graft!!!!!
Heres a few of the underneath in stages of stripdown. As you can see i tested the Zinc paint and Kurust as i went along, as i was bored of breathing in burning underseal!!!

A few more to follow in a min!!!
....Enjoy!!

Re: Ok here goes the resto!!!!!!!UPDATED
Right small update......
Bought myself a compressor and all the trimmings to apply the underseal and base coat...

Most of the underseal has been done here, took about a week, well four days off work and the odd night!!

Just a few niggly bits to go like the wheel holder brackets!!!

The car as you can imagine is quite dusty all over now, but could have been alot worse as most of went into my lungs, as i kept forgetting to take deep breaths

So....with the last of the underseal taken off i was ready to try my hand at undersealing the ol gal!!!

Enjoy!!!!

Re: Ok here goes the resto!!!!!!!UPDATED
Glad ya like so far!!!
After the underseal was off and cleaned in brake cleaner, i gave it a little dusting with the underseal!!!

One coat turned out like this.....

Then i just couldnt resist giving it a bit of mercury just to see how it would look after the next 4 coats of underseal were applied....
Front vallance underside framework...

Up close...

Then the front crossmember thingy...

As saiid previously, its only a sucki it and see, Hopefully it will warm up a bit by the time ive finished the underseal coats, in time for the final paint and laquer. Going to the pwdercoatser and zinc platers to get some samples of bits and bobs tommorow, then back in the garage to apply more layers of stonechip to the rear arches etc and the rest of the underside....

Re: Ok here goes the resto!!!!!!!UPDATED
No secret mate....
Getting all the underside metals like hubs, rear beam, wishbones, carriers, springs, shocks, wheel tray etc etc, powdercoated satin black , then any nut, bolt, washer clamp and hangers etc etc zinc passivated, as o.e type spec.
Gna get all the brake lines re enamelled green, with gold connector nuts, then gna try getting the fuel lines redone in zinc..
Then when the engine is back, that will get the same treatment also!!!!
More pics to follow as the underside has had its last coat (4) of underseal and is now ready for the merc grey base coat and laquer!!!
