Re: Fiesta mk2 2.0 zetec coming soon !
It was the end of the Hcs today. It will be missed. Hasnt let me down once this last year. Very reliable plucky engine.
and with only 44,350 under its belt it dont deserve to be scrapped.

before i started this morning.

minus one Hcs engine

Wiring !

End of the day
cant wait to get the zetec bolted in.
What a epic journey this will be building this 2.0

Such a clean Mk2 and it should go well with a 2.0. Have you got an HO inlet?

Re: Fiesta mk2 - 2.0 Its in !
The update we have all been waiting for !
A big thank you to Rhinopower for helping me 1st thing this morning to move the engine from my garage to the car.

Modified Cvh mount for zetec 2.0 - Jay modded this and express delivered it to me friday morning. Technician at work used air grinder to remove all surface rust and i cleaned it , primed and painted gloss black

Compairing the Zetec mk3 mount to the Cvh mount on left

One clean fiesta diesel 1.8 gearbox bolted upto the mk2 fiesta craddle
This was caked in stubbon grease that was 2mm thick all inside. Gunk sprayed and scrubbed then hosed off

Old style reverse switch fitted to match the loom & clutch arm changed from diesel version to the mk2 version.

For some reason my oil pump was different to jays 2.0.
The oil pump was in the way for the bottom of the cvh mount. The bottom hole is not being used as it dont line up with the mount so this needed chopping off.

Gav kindly did the chopping as im affraid of angle grinders !
All fitted back on

Fitting the lump was tricky , involved lifting the car up with 2 trolley jacks and axel stands. Then sliding the engine and gearbox underneath. Lower car back down and then lift it all up into place.

Fitted - Plenty of swearing and jiggling was needed. It was very tight near the brake servo and brake lines near the coil pack bracket. The Inlet manifold needed to be removed to clear the bulk head and to gain access to the mount to guide it into the inner wing. Once the drivers mount was located and bolted on. The rest was easy to line up with a trolley jack.
Both front tie rod bars had to be removed to fit the Lump.

Clearance from the inner wing to the crank pulley and alternator & belt (half inch tops)

Back on the deck !
Very happy it all fits. At one point i thought it wasnt gonna fit as the alt pulley was hitting inner wing. The bonnet just closes with it all in place and doesnt hit the inlet manifold.
Comments welcome

Re: Fiesta mk2 - 2.0 Zetec Its In !
nice to see it in mate.
i will add, the bit i put on the mount is welded on the front as shown as well as on the back in case anyone was wondering.
i did consider cutting the bottom bit off that mount as ive seen it done many times before, but it cleared everything on my engine when i made the template for the extra bit up so left it on assuming you would have the same pump, tbh, i didnt know there were 2 different pumps on the silver top
i got plenty clearance on my lump as the pic shows

just looked at the pic of a 1.6 zetec engine i got for the bits (sump etc) and it has the same oil pump as you, so maybe the 1.6 and 1.8's has a shorter pump than the 2 litre
