Fiesta 1.1 Question!
Yo, im new to here so if I seem like a 'tard im just getting used to things.
Im pondering on whether to buy a Mk3. Fiesta 1.1 Quartz (bog-standard & gutless, I know) soonish and the first few changes would be an XR2i kit obviously, set of nice RS1800's and possibly lowered, but what else would be next?
And also, if I wanted to whack in another engine instead of the 1118cc, what would be ideal? a 2.0l zetec?
... and for anyone interested/curious, before this I had a Sax VTR:

Re: Fiesta 1.1 Question!
yes most definately do it and ditch the spaxo asap, you would get more respect in a bog standard 'gutless' fiesta than you would that french chavmobile lol

Re: Fiesta 1.1 Question!
if you can afford to insure and run a poor mans VTR, then getting something a bit better than the 1.1 fiesta shouldnt be a problem??

Ahhh interesting lol.
Naa mate, that was bad enough, £219 per month is silly
The Fez would cost £791 annualy so not bad at all, plus wouldnt wanna go back to get bummed for insurance!
Just bought some RS500 alloys from a Sierra and theyre getting refurbed and supposdley quite rare (back me up? lol)
So, shouldnt look too shabby with the xr2i kit on, lowered, RS500s etc

Re: Fiesta 1.1 Question!
rs500 wheels do look good on my a mk3 fez mate, so thats a good choice.
as for rare, i wouldnt say there really rare, but they dont come up ofton , but then again ive never looked for them, but they dont come up very ofton on the forum
insurance is a killer i know, nearly 800 notes is a fair bit, how old are you? points etc? (dont have to answer just wondering why so much)

JESUS christ, you need to really overlook your options mate
if you want a bit of speed style and yet affordability, look into the mk3 Fiesta Si 1.6
theyre as quick as the poxy VTR and usually pack more electrical kit, and without the chavvy aura, and have good reliability unlike the later
plus i believe the VTR is a group 14 or so? the 1.6 Si is a group 8!
and engine upgrade wise, know one said the 1.6 zetec found int he Si was brilliantly quick, but its very simple and straightfardward to swap it for the 1.8 or 2.0l zetec, the 2.0 gives a 130ps soon as you start it up
id avoid the 1.1 myself theyre very sluggish and done have much appeal, theyres better mk3s to be had easily, id understand if it were a mk1 or mk2, as theyre getting rare now and the 1.1 was the most popular
if you insist, id suggest the 1.3 instead, its not as slow, has some kick, well enough to keep me sane, and still has the good mpg figures, i used to get around 50mpg when i tried!
but engine conversions to the HCS fiesta's (1.1/1.3) is not exsactly straight forward, you have to swap almost everything from loom, engine running gear and exhaust system, also the fuel pump wouldnt really keep up with a 2.0 as you can understand
hope i helped
