fao mk4 owners or anyone who knows about boot releases!

This has probably been answered before but im lazy so im gonna ask anyway...

can a mk3 boot release be fitted to a mk4? and how much wiring do u need from the mk3.. are there already wires on the mk4 leadin up to the boot and does it just need a switch or what?

help me cos im useless!

not sure about the mk3 boot release, however id fit a mk5 into a mk4 boot (not sure what the mk4 ones like) but the mk5 is cable operated instead of rod operated being much more reliable :)


Sorry i cant give you any more info on the mk3 boot release tho.

yes it can but its a pain in the arse and aint as good as a propper one

MK4 ones are cable operated too. No wires are already there - and if you don't have an alarm you will also need to get a switch for inside the car to operate it.

Needs to be done by an auto electrician really..
