engine problem !
Right the other day i went to adjust my tappets but messed them up ! this resulted in the engine making a clicking noise ( at the time i thought maybe bent valve) i then adjusted the valve clearances properly and now the clicking seems to have stopped ! However the car doesnt seem to be running right ! the exhaust seems a lot louder and the whoe bacbox is shaking there seems to be a more pressure than normal mayb !? the engine also semmed to be revving higher ! when i revved the car then the engine revs then seemed to cut down but then picked back up again slowly !
The only thing i can think of that ive done wrong is i need a new rocker cover gasket ! could this be the problem
If not, any ideas ...... ?
P.S the car does run it just doesnt seem right !

could be gasket mate could still be in correctly set tappets
but from what u say al it is doing is revving better, and poor idle?
did u disconnect the battery?
how many mile have u done since u did the adjustments? could be the ecu relearning values
HTH keep updated
Ps hcs engines have a habbit of doing funny things every now and again, especially when i play with them

Did you connect the vacuum hose back up to the air box? Are the wires to the injector fouling the throttle linkages?

right have looked into a number of the possibilities that were suggested !
all that is left is
to buy a new rocker gasket ! ( i will do this anyway as soon as i can get sum1 where to buy one )
the tappets maybe to tight !
or the only other thing ive heard suggested is that there might be a cam timing problem !
After running the car etc this morning it is defo not idling or driving right ! everything seems fine except for the way it idles its really lump the exhaust is shaking a lot and when driven i could feel the whole car vibrating and shaking with the engine !?
