Crank case breather

As in the pic I know it vents to atmosphere but there's another pipe that joins in from the inlet manifold, what's this for?
I have seen other engine bay pic and it looks like an fiesta rst's have it, but This is an efi xr3i inlet so is it possible that it will cause a boost leak? Is it missing anything
Forgot to mention it's had a fiesta turbo bottom end and t3 conversion

Re: Crank case breather
I've just posted a thread asking for something similar, and it looks as though I have the same breather pot
The way mine's set up, there's a small pipe coming through a one way valve that goes into the breather, I think it's either crank or inlet. The head goes into it as well, and mine had been punched through with a third pipe that goes to the air intake pipe. I think the originals are supposed to have three outlets, mine has two and a hole which was siliconed up over the pipe that leads back to the one way valve, I guess whoever had the engine before me did a makeshift set up

Re: Crank case breather
right so u have an escort runnig what is basically a efi fiesta engine are u using the efi head or the scort head
your breather is a efi fez type u should have a small pipe that goes to the inlet there is 2 small pipes coming from the inlet these should be linked togeter and the small breather pipe will be connected to these 2 pipes and should have a t piece also a 1 way valve the bottom pipe goes to the pipe on the back of the block with another t piece linked to the right hand pipe on the rocker gasget
hope thats helped and heres a pic for your viewing pleasure lol
