Clutch QUERY?

Postby MIK3Y on Mon Aug 11, 2003 12:27 am

A swirling rattling can be heard when clutch pedal is up in neutral on idle.

Can't be heard when pressing the pedal down.

Im thinking it's the clutch thrust bearing but is it any thing to worry about if it's not sliping? CheeRS.
Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop to look around once in a while, you could miss it.

dodgy release/thrust/whatever you wanna call it bearing. The fill up with dust and go dry and give annoying noises.

I wouldn't worry about it to much.

Common B5 (type of gearbox) problem.

The main shaft still turns and drags some gears with it..
nothing to worry..

If the sound gets squeekie .. it's the thrust bearing..
