bonnet help, broken!

Postby c0redump on Tue Jul 08, 2003 4:29 pm

hi guys,

just wondered if anyone could help?

my bonnet was stuck, i think its the cable gone too far into the latch... anyways, on trying to get it out, i was pulling on the lever under the steering wheel and it broke :(

does anyone know if i can replace this? it's the orange plastic thing... it looks like its held on by two metal bits, but im not sure 'cos i cant find it in the fiesta book, no mention of it, as far as i can see!

i am as we speak trying to get the bonnet open now, gonna hafta take apart all the latch by the grill cos its all stuck and the level has broke :( if anyone knows if the plastic thingy can be replaced, please gimme a shout and reply to this! is it easy? what page is it under in the fiesta manual?

i owe you big time, many thanks

tom

sorry to spam my own post... but i got it open in the end... a lil bit of pulling back and fourth on the inner cable and pushing up and down on the bonnet. it seems as if my insides of the latch has actually got dry, gah. anyways, its got some nice wd40 and some oil on it now.

about that plastic lever... managed to put it back on, and 'cos only the side bit had broken off, used some butterfly clips (i think you call them, i forget) and it's kept on with that.

all works fine :)

thanks for everyones help anyways.
