Bens Wheel Refurb Guide
Items : 5 x Rs2000 wheels in defo need of a refurb.
Time : 3 hrs per wheel min
Price for consumables £30-35

obvously he let his wife drive the car

Tools need to start the next process :

As you can see the edges seemed to be a bit kurb happy but not for long

with the detail sander they smoothed out very nice , start with a 120 grit then work down to a 1200

Smoothed out the old bubbles and weight mark

the wheel is coming along now

cut out the valve as it will make life so much easier, plus they always give you a new one when you have the tyres fitted

now the back to deal with

tools needed for the next process

Yes this is a shockingly bad drill , and only had enough power do one wheel , a 240v would be advised but this one still done the job

see not to bad really

give the wheel a good wash with washing up liquid to get rid of the grime that will have stuck to the wheel front and mainly inside

I went for filler primer just to fill it all in

then i went for a white primer, as my garage was very cold i used a hair dryier to heat the wheel and can a bit , as i was spraying it i used the hairdryier to harden the paint quicker

when its all dried use a 1200 grit sandpaper to rub it all down and smooth it off for the colour coat

Now the colour coat
this has just has 1 coat but you get the pricture, ill aim to put 4-5 coats on. wait for 24 hrs then a cheeky little rub down with 1200 grit then put plenty of laquer on as this is the stuff that will save ya wheels from gettin chipped but dont rush with the laquer as it can run very easily and youll of got this far and dont want to be at the start again, but ill be aiming to put 7-8 coats on.

hope this all makes sense and hope your wheels will be looking as good as mine
ill post a pic when they are on the car ( hopefully very soon 0

Re: Bens Wheel Refurb Guide
Thats a good guide made. One thing I will say though, is if you wash them with washing up liquid, before you put the primer on make sure you have rubbed it down with methelated spirit first, as washing up liquid can make the paint/primer go funny.
