The start of the film is set before Tokyo drift, after the truck crash Toretto says he's calling it a day because its too dangerous or what ever and Han says he hears they are doing some crazy stuff in Tokyo.

And thats how Toretto would have known Han when he turns up at the very end of Tokyo drift

not seen it yet, will go next week, but i saw a review on tv, and although its the 4th film to be made its basicly a carry on story from the first one.

the only thing i find confussing about that, is on the dvd for the second film, theres a short film you can select explaning how brian ditched being a cop and went onto get the silver skyline then ended up in miami (or where ever), which is where the second film begins, if this new one is before that happened, then im confussed.

still im sure it will be all explained when i watch the latest one

I don't remember seeing an ERST in The Fast and The Furious, but then why would there be one? They were never sold in the US so would have had to import one just to make the film... The Escort sold in the US looks nothing like the UK one.

As soon as I saw Han I turned to my mate and said 'isn't he supposed to be dead?!' then as soon as he mentioned Tokyo I figured it out, they could have put some dates at the bottom just to make it really clear but lets face it, it's not the most complex story line to follow

Vin starts jacking trucks full of expensive gear and Brian goes undercover to try and catch him, they fall in love and Brian lets him go at the end...
Vin runs away and Brian escapes to Miami as he's now wanted and no longer a cop.
Vin starts jacking fuel tankers with Han in the dominican republic then starts to worry about being caught so he goes to Panama and Han goes to Tokyo.
Brian f**ks about in Miami and finally gets caught with the option of helping the fbi bring down a drug lord, which he does and we later learn he's invited back to be a cop again.
Han is in Tokyo while all this is going on drifting around every granny and post box for the hell of it, meets the American kid, crashes in a fire ball and dies... Vin turns up at the end and says 'He was when he was riding with me' with regards to being into muscle cars.
Vin's bird gets killed so he returns to LA and enters a race to work for the drug runner that killed her so he can get his revenge, Brian enters the race too but he wants to arrest the guy instead...everyone lives happily ever after.

well the ERST is in the first on in the part where they are all going down todo some street racing the bit with the pizza guy gettin told to piss off. U see it for at least 2 seconds and the hydraulics going down on it. As for not being sold in US well bit obvious but they have loads of import cars there, if my information is correct alot of RS200's are in america. Im sure it wouldnt be that hard to get a european ford down there and they probably all want one since their fords are mostly s**t.

A lot of RS200's were sold in America, along with other countries. That's why there are both LHD and RHD ones.

The only thing about the movie that needs clearing up in my head is this...

Dom is on his way to prison and Brian and Mia and the two guys from the Dominican Republic are racing up behind the bus, obviously to break Dom out...

I was left wondering for ages... did they get him out!! and then I realised they must have, and he must have fled to Tokyo as at the end of Tokyo Drift he turned up in his muscle car to race the young American kid (cant remember his name)

Did anyone else wonder about this...?
