90's RS1800 Fast Car Cover Car Resto
Hi All,
First post in years here so please go easy. Last time I posted on here I was looking for my old car and
recently I spotted my old Fiesta RS1800 back up for sale. I hadn't seen it for almost 16 years after I sold it until one evening it popped up on an group I follow on Facebook. I modified the car from scratch back in the late 90's and it ended up being on the cover of Fast Car magazine. I bought it back as I felt it must be fate. The car is in a pretty sorry state but it's my mission to restore it, not necessarily to the same look and spec as before though. I'm looking to return it to fairly stock looking and lose all that horrendous 90's styling.
The plan is to retain as much of the original car as possible. I'm wanting to get the shell welded and rot free which is going to be a big old job. I'm also wanting to use the original 1.8 Zetec but want it rebuilt with most likely a turbo conversion.
I am totally useless with spanners and have little time to be able to carry the work out myself. So my question to you all is, can anyone recommend someone or specialists that could help me get this project moving?
Thanks in advance and here's a few pics to show you all what I'm dealing with.
Here's when I had it featured back in 1999:

Here's how it is now:

This is some of the extent of the rot:

I'm sure they'll be loads more once the car is stripped!
