Bought an L reg Fiesta a couple of months back, have had a few probs to say the least but have since reconditioned the engine and changed the mounting brackets. However, I am having a problem with second gear! I seem to have to be below 5 m.p.h to change down into second without it making a grinding noise, changing up is no problem. Any ideas???

I think ur synchro mesh is worn. Oni way to sort this is to change the gearbox which is a cheaper option than rebuildin the whole thing.

problem with individual gear would be a box problem,
problem with all gears is clutch, or selector.
