1800 loom pinouts for 2ltr

Postby JACK THE LAD on Fri May 19, 2006 11:55 pm

4 – connect to the wire that goes to pin 11 of the EDIS (to give the
tachometer it’s signal)
8 – connect to the wire from the fuel pump impact switch, on the Mondeo
wiring diagram it’s shown as connecting to the Auxillary Fusebox at the
same place as the impact switch.
13 – if you want the ecu to control the radiator fan use this pin to
ground the coil of the relay that controls the fan instead of the radiator
fan switch.
31 - if you want the ecu to control the second stage of the radiator fan
(or is there two rad fans on the RS1800?) use this pin to ground the coil
of the relay that controls the fan instead of the.
36 – disconnect as you will be discarding the external EDIS because the
Mondeo DEEP, DEWY, DESK ecu’s are internal EDIS.
51 – connect to injector #1 ground.
52 - connect to injector #2 ground.
55 - connect to the wire that goes to pin 5 of the EDIS (to give the ecu
the crank sensor ground).
56 - connect to the wire that goes to pin 6 of the EDIS (to give the ecu
the crank sensor signal).
58 - connect to the wire that goes to pin 10 of the EDIS (to give the ecu
the control of coil 1)
59 - connect to the wire that goes to pin 12 of the EDIS (to give the ecu
the control of coil 2).

there you go lads that should get you started. :) :) :)

nice 1 derek

the 2.0 ecus DESK DEEP and DEWY all used external pats.. so if the car doesent have it, its ok, if its a fiesta that does have it, it will be external so no worries.

if you done it on a MK4 or escorts that run internal pats then you would need to bypass it.

(mis)quoting Homer's neighbour - Wrong diddly doodly done diddly doodly done diddly doodly wrong. - These three ecu's are internal EDIS. BTW anyone know who's the neighbour on the other side?

when i got my conversion done on my si 2 weeks ago, the deep ecu was making the car run extremely lean - according to jamsport who fitted it. so, they put the 1.6 ecu/injectors/maf sensor and throttle body back on,and i collected it. was running like poo, seemed to really hold back after 3,500 rpm and was really jerkey. i sourced a desk ecu,put the 2.0ltr injectors and maf on but havent changed throttle body yet,so it runs better but still lacks the top end power, infact its probably no quicker, just has more torque. would the 1.6 throttle body restrict the engine that much!? cheers!

the plug if you undo the 2 10m nuts and pull it out & you look closely at the plug they are all numbered 1 to 60 . start at 58 & 59 injec 1 &2 and move them to 51 & 52.it might be a bit daunting mate just take your time with it . took me ages to get my head around it . i aint to good at electrics me self but i managed it.if you get stuck just ask matey :D :)

move 58 59 to 51 52 which are injectors 1 & 2. then wire 58 to the wire that goes to pin 10 of eddis that gives power to coil 1. then run a wire from 59 to the wire that goes to pin 12 of the eddis that gives you power to coil 2. hope that helps :) . 3. 4. 8.9 of the eddis tape them you dont use them. number 7 of the eddis you run to 40 or 60 ecu. :) :)
