1.6 Si alternator belt fitting how to?
ok got new belt on order since mine is squeeking. is there a how to guide on how to change it? does the si use an auto tensioner of sorts or is the adjustment done from the alternator brackets itself?

It has an auto tensioner on the pulley, think its a 13mm nut - Nice easy job but access may be an issue

thanks for the reply, yes i have checked mine and it does seem to be an auto tensioner with a nut on it.
iv got a new belt on order, dayco branded one, for under £13 ford wants over 30 quid for it!!!!
prices have gone up n these mark 3's.
haynes manual says to remove the drivers side wheel for better access to changing it.
i will take photos and put up a guide incase anyone has trouble in the future. although looks like these cars are now getting rare, hardly one one posting on the forums anymore.
