1.0 to 2.0 project - UPDATE AT LAST
I have been waiting for long time to do this conversion as some of you know, been salvaging and saving for over a year now so I thought I get my arse into gear and get this done for FITP (fingers crossed), so basicly I will have a fullly rebuild 2.0 zetec engine with a full rolling shell respray by the end of next month.
But here are some pics of what I have been upto in the last month I have been rebuilding wasn't going to do that much but i got carried away
Might not look alot, but it has takern some time to get all these bits, more close ups in gallery
New piston rings
New big ends and small ends Shells
Block freshley skimmed and honed
Pistons stripped
New shells and rings fitted
Painted block
Oil and water pumped fitted and Sump
And this is how its sits at the moment waiting to be timed up and waiting for new powder coated parts
Cheers

hey, just for the record you would get much more power and a torquier car by just fitting another 1.0 HCS engine in the boot of the car aswell, rather than fitting the 2l upfront.

there are some more pics of the engine rebuild but there are on my mates camera still, I post them up once I get them off of him.
The engine is all timied up now just getting the new mounts sorted and some more new bits from fords should have flywheel and new clutch fitted this weekend
At the moment I have been working on the car taking it off the road and getting it ready repairs and full respray should be going on monday.
Just before ripping out the 1.0, already stripped the interior the day before
Bye Bye 1.0
Dirty engine bay
With ALOT of degreaser and scrubbing
And The stripped out interior
Still loads to do should have more updates at the bodyshop and fully build engine, hopefully
Cheers

One thing, you have bought what appears to be a standard 2.0 mondeo oil filter, it is too big and will bang on the bulkhead, you need to fit a fiesta mk3 HCS/CVH one. The one i use is from halfords, model number ' HOF200 '

Ghost: I am going for the full Mk5 look
just getting rid of the old rusted parts?
robsonsfiesta: It should be fine as I am running the RS1800 oil pump, the bigger the filter the better but I will have to wait and see once its fitted. cheers tho

Looks like it'll be a very special fez afterward.
Are you keeping it white?

Thanks for everyones replys I haven't had the time, for a long time to post any updates
been working on the car solid with loads of problems but got everything nearly sorted now.
You may have guessed that I didn't make it to FITP
in the car so close, but made it down with Knuckles and Ghost instead. Thanks
I have been without a camera since my car went to the bodyshop which broke, so I have been relying on mates cameras, which has taken ages to get the pics off of them.
I am still waiting for more pics finishing of the engine rebuild but here are some of whats been going on in last couple of months. This gonna take a while?
Back fom the bodyshop Full respray in Bright White
Organic sport clutch kit fitted
Treated tank
Freshly painted
Powdered coated parts
RS1800 manifold and throttle body cleaned and painted
Skimmed cam cover
Only pics i have with engine in and at home
New Driveshafts
Driveshafts all fitted up to my rst gearbox and you can just see the modified clutch cover plate where the 2.0 starter motor would have gone
Injector rail
Inlet manifold
This is at its present state still waiting for my bumpers to be finished which has let me down the most
. Now all running and alarmed which is a big thanks to Rhinopower for fixing all the wiring probs, other than that its all ready to go but I still some more little mods to do
Brand new rad
Thanks for everyone's help?
Cheers

looks well tidy! I think mine will be abit more of a 'bodge' effort!
Just because I keep talking about definetly doing it doesn't mean I'm actualy going to do it.
