how about a 2010 FT calendar?
how about a 2010 FT calendar?
ok i kow its a bit early to say about this but with the amount of time it can take to get things going its best to start as early as poss

basicly when i used to use passionford more the FT (long time ago!) they done a passionford girls calendar, full of some of the lovly ladies that used PF at the time, now im not saying FT should do a girls calendar, well, unless you want to that is ladies
, but how about a Ft calendar with memebers cars on or something?
like the passionford one, profits from selling them go to a charity so everyone is a winner and no one loses out as such.
who the charity would be and details i can sort later, but for now who thinks its a good idea or what not, just gen comments ideas etc please.
no going off topic though
oh, and may would be my month as thats my birthday
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

wow, all i can say is that i didnt expect so much interest and input this quick, i have said about it before in the past and no one seemed willing to take it on, but none the less the interest seems very good so far so i need to step up and get something sorted as it's been pointed out that it needs to be made clear on whoes going to run this, so...
as it was my idea, i am taking it on and will sort this
if needbe, and more than likely, the cost of it would be fronted by myself, i dont expect any FT account to pay or people from the site/shows to chip in or what not, although as said i may well look into add sponsors.
if it all goes pete tong and i end up out of pocket, then thats down to me, but i would implement something to stop time wasters, because as we all know, time wasters do nothing but complicate things and in turn could be the make or break to something happening or not, so please, if you have no intention of buying a calendar, please do not say you will, no one will hold it against ya, ..........you tight fisted, no im kidding
, but no, if you aint gunna get one dont say you will, that way i can get a true idea of how much real interest there is.
but remember, profits will go to charity
with this sort of thing, there will be members that dont make it on to the calendar, and will feel a bit pi$$ed off, but i just want to say right now that it is nothing personal, and nothing to do with any one person not liking another, and dare i say it nothing to do with any form of "clicky group" whether it exist or not, its about cars and what cars can basically "sell" the calendar, so i ask everyone to respect that fact, and please dont get upset if your car is not selected.
i know a lot of you may not agree with this, but im being honest, i would of course expect my car to be in it as im sorting it out
right how to select whats goes and what doesnt.
i will add a poll to this thread shortly asking what goes on and what doesnt, after all some people on here dont have fiestas, others dont have mk'3s etc etc, but i will add that up shortly and see what happens
when the voting for cars go ahead.
first off, you must state if you want your car to be a nominee, please dont nominate other peoples cars, i will not pick any cars to go on the poll if you have not first asked for it to be on there, after all it is your car and your choice, no one elses, cant say fairer than that, so if you dont nominate your own car. you cant complain it was never included, maybe harsh, but fair.
you can nominate your car from now, there is no "closing date " for this as yet as its early days, but i will give a months notice of when the closing date is, but tbh, it will be a long way off, and i will close it prob a couple weeks/month before the dead line for printing is, that way everyone should get a chance to see this thread and nominate their car
the selection process will be done via polls on the site, and i will talk to show stand organisers about having some form of selection process at shows, if this is deemed a good idea, as some cars may in fact not be on the FT stand, some may be on RS owners club stands or some may not of been able to make it due to work etc, and we must bear in mind some/many of the show go'ers would not have any intention of buying a calendar..., but as i say i will talk with who ever is sorting the show stands this year and report back on it
plug in a mag..
i will be talking to a couple people on the site that write for known ford mags about maybe getting a free plug about this calendar in the mag, and maybe direct readers to not only this site, but to the thread with the voting so they can view all the pictures of the cars in the running and give there vote.
thinking about it, it might be best to see if maybe we can get a voting thread going where voters can remain annonymous and CANNOT edit there post to change there mind, and of course, only be allowed to vote once, something i think should be asked to adrian
anyhow,
when all polls are complete and votes done etc, the top ones will be selected, weather they be frst, rs1800, 1.1, xr2i, red, white, pink, 4 doors, black wheels, white wheels or what, the polls will select the final bunch, this is the most fairest way, and if any have a draw i will put up a post asking for 9 forum members, and the first 9 to reply will all vote on which one of the drawing pair is indeed selected, and i will not cast a vote over a drawing pair, it will be purely down to the first 9 members that reply, no matter who they are, fair yes?
im not going to do this to pass the buck, i will do so to make the selection process as fair as possible for all
i think i have covered everything so far, but please do keep the replys coming
**added**
please do not post pictures of your cars up, that part of the selection process will come later and i will post on this thread informing people of when it will happen and give a link to the thread that it will be happing on.
reasons for not wanting pictures just yet,
it hasnt be decided if it will be just mk3/3.5 or what yet (please see the link below for more details on that) and secondly the picture of the car is as important as the back ground, a pic of a car in front of a wheelie bin or in a full car park / on your drive etc wouldnt look as good on a calendar as a nice country side, or hill side or what ever, just look in car mags your get the gen idea of what im getting at chaps and chap-ets, plus if this thread gets filled with pics some people might not want to troll through it all , so no more pics on here please guys
EDIT : Please see new poll in general discussion

i am putting a dead line on this now, you have untill 1st april to put your car forward, if it is not put forwards here by that date then you miss out, i will not accept any entries after this date, no exceptions.
once that is done the voting poll will be started which will last for 1 month, i.e the voting poll once started will end 1st may, again, no exceptions.
i have to do this to get the ball rolling as it cant and wont be left to the last min, and for those that get voted in for the main pics you will have FITP if you need it, to get pics, or if the 4 doors get a space a group shot etc
put your car foward on the other thread please

Re: how about a 2010 FT calendar?
Well I know of another forum who did this they basically got everyone who wanted to be in the calender to send their best picture of their car in and then the Admin team chose who was going to be in it so maybe something similar could be done?
Give people who can't make the shows an opportunity to be in the calender

a man on the inside, i likes it
his car will be in the calendar if he so wishes so im sure a plug in the mag wouldnt be too much
yeah sending in of best pics would be good, as you say people that cant attend shows could miss out, or if the weather is crap some might not want to attend, plug pants weather isnt the best for a calendar
mind you, FITP, rain, cold, could be a feature for a winter month
just kidding.
ok ill go ahead and find out what i can about getting them done, min orders and rough costs etc, that way i'll know what im looking at.
could even do a option to pay a tad extra and get a FT keyring, for those that dont have one to help chris shift some more

Captain Tightpants :Genuine RS Turbo's only?
i think it would be unfair to say just gen FRST's only dispite the forum name.
i wounder if any compaines would sponsor the calendar to have there logo on it? bit like the ad's that are on the site?
get a few of them to sponsor/pay to have there ad on it, just enough to cover the cost of producing the calendar or there abouts, that way all profits from the sale of them can be donated to chairty and i wouldnt have to lay out X amount from my own pocket
na jokes a side does anyone else think this could be a good idea? more so if it could have a plug in a mag?

Fair enough.
I would be interested in one if it were RS Turbos.
Not sure about a Mk3 calender as a rule tbh. You would have to make it appeal to the outsider. Not just to the owners of the cars.

Re: how about a 2010 FT calendar?
Captain Tightpants :Fair enough.
I would be interested in one if it were RS Turbos.
Not sure about a Mk3 calender as a rule tbh. You would have to make it appeal to the outsider. Not just to the owners of the cars.
Steve
i hear what ya saying, and i guess out of everyone that would want there cars in it, the pics would have to be sorted thought, but remember, there are some good cars about which are not FRST's.
example, you say you would get one if it were rs turbos, what if heemans and rawlies cars were in it? there not "real" rs turbos as they never left fords as such, so it could end with it offending people.
but
this thread is about ideas and opinions from all forum users and the more thoughts and ideas the better, if everyone though just frst's would be better then it could go that way.
im all ears from everyone so anything thoughts please do feel free to post them, dont worry if you think it will offend anyone i need the input
