Fiesta Si 1.6 16V Zetec £5000 ONO

Image

The time has come to for me to sell my Fiesta Si. I have owned the car since October 1999. It was a completely standard example when I purchased it and every modification has been carried out by professionals, at my request. This car is immaculate, everyone that knows the car have stated how good it is and the pictures do not do the paintwork justice.

The car will be sold exactly as it is right now, nothing will be removed from this car prior to the sale. The full spec. of the car is listed below and the car looks as it does in the below photos except that the Bad Boy Bonnet has now been replaced with a smoothed FRST vented bonnet. Obviously I will be keeping the registration J444 ESF, when the car is sold it will hopefully go back to the original registration which was N646 JBJ.

It has done 97000 miles, has had 5 previous owners and has FSH. This car has never wanted for anything since I have owned it and has always been maintained to an extremely high standard.

I am looking for £5000 ONO

The car will be at Ford Fair 2005 on the PassionFord stand.

I have hundreds of other photos of the car if required. Any questions or enquiries please post on here or PM me.

Thanks for reading.

£5k and its got standard engine, and sony ice!! think you are aiming way too high, dont get me wrong, very nice example, very clean and tidy, loving the interior but pies and bridger didnt sell theirs for anywhere near that much, and are considered by myself and many other people to be 2 of the best cars to be on the forum, good luck with the sale

This is an absolutely gorgeous motor; but I'm a stick in the mud as well with the pricing... Think you may struggle to sell her to get your £5k even by breaking and selling her standard.

Best of luck though... Would be nice to see a Fez go for this kind of money as it would show that the market is back in demand for older fezzies.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

What can I say?

If you really think this is a £2000 - £2500 motor then come and have a good look at it on Sunday at Ford Fair.

If you still feel then that it is only worth that little, then fair enough.

I saw your car on Sunday, a very nice example, but at the end of the day it's a 9 yr old 1.6 Si, and £5k is a bit too much.

As has been mentioned, a 2.1ZT would find it hard to fetch that amount...

Good luck with the sale! :)

yer bro i have have to agree with everyone else my vr 6 just sold for £4300... thats a 2.8 with 5k+ spent on it running bout 200bhp and it only needed a bit of work to be a total minter..... i wanted 5k for it really...

i know wot you have done to your car and its top notch but it aint worth near wot your asking i have to say i think you'll be lucky to see 2k...

fiesta's just aint worth that much mate, and also that was the reason i sold my golf was only gonna devalue more and so i decided to get rid as i was going to in nxt 12 months anyway so sold while it was worth more..

Amen cars in general are losing their value big time. There's only a few models which hold their value (such as the expensive RX7 I want next lol)

I can see your points guys and maybe £5000 is too much, but when you're selling a car you have to start somewhere and it's very difficult to price a modified car when there's very little to compare it with. As said Pies car went for over £3000 and my car is far more modified bodywork wise than his was, yes his had a 2.0L engine, but my car's got quite a few more modifications and a sizeable install.

What I don't understand is how people are saying this is possibly a £2000-£2500 car, there's over £9000 worth of mods alone on that car. A standard black 3 dr Si with no rust (Very hard to find) would probably set you back £1000-£1500, I fail to see how mine can only be worth £500-£1000 more. I may not get £5000 for it but it certainly isn't worth as little as £2500.

Thanks mate!

Can't really break the car as everything is painted in a black pearl. If for instance I sold the bumpers, doors, bonnet and tailgate the rest of the shell would be virtually worthless and the buyer wouldn't be able to colour match it with anything. To be honest though I'm never going to break this car, it would hurt too much!

so basically if you want 5k break it!

Personally I think it's worth more whole than in parts. Perhaps it would've been worth more if it'd still been Ash Black but it being a Black Pearl would probably make it difficult to shift the main bits of bodywork as they would need spraying. The only other car I know of that is the same colour as mine is a Corrado.

I didn't ever expect to get anywhere near my money back, including purchasing the car, and servicing etc this car probably stands me the best part of £20000 maybe more.

If someone's looking to get a modified Fiesta, this is the car to have, even if they do manage to pick up a non rusty car for £1000 I doubt they could get it looking like mine for anywhere near £4000 more. Yes the styling may not be to everyone's taste but I believe this car is worth the money to the right buyer, it's just finding the right buyer that's the problem!

At the end of the day the car is worth what someone is prepared to pay...
Can be a good thing or a bad thing.

Good point with this car is that it's quite modified, but subtle at the same time.

The way i came to price my car is by thinking if i had x amount would I buy this car, and when the answers yes thats what you should put it up for... no matter how much you've spent; if you had 5k to buy a car would you buy this?

Maybe a break down to show people where the money's been spent may help?

Very true, but it's very difficult to price something that you've been so involved in for 5 or so years.

If this was the kind of car I was looking for and I had £5000 yes I would buy it, but then the styling is completely to my tastes as it's my car. The insurance is still quite low on this car as it's an Si with a near standard engine, a lot cheaper to insure than an RS or similar hot hatch.

As you said the styling is very subtle, which I think appeals to the majority of car enthusiasts. Some people don't even notice the lack of locks and door handles, or the smoothed roof rails and the fact that the washer jet mouldings have been removed from the Cosworth bumper. It's a very subtle car but it still turns heads and is always very well received at shows.

A break down of the modifications is a possibilty I suppose and maybe it would help with the sale.

Your thinking with your heart and not your head.

At the end of the day not many people are going to spend 5k on a what 9year old 1.6 ford fiesta. To be honsist they'll be made to.

What you've done to the car is without a doubt nice. No two ways about it, but it's a 9year old 1.6 fiesta.

Use your head when pricing the car what are the odds on you finding someone else with the exact same taste as you who is willing to part with 5k for a 9year old 1.6 fiesta.

sad case absolute minter si, but then its a 10 year old car with 93k, i wished i was worth 5k because of the money and time spent, but as said above, mods aren't worth anything.

It would be a shame to break it tho!

Stick it on ebay or autotrader?

mint car mate, im in a similar situation selling my car (not as modified as yours). Knock it down a grand and see what response you get. People on these forums will always say its not worth that much, but thats because they're so used to seeing bargains. Not everyone has the use of the internet and maybe not as clued up as the users on here. Keep trying mate, you'l find someone to buy it :Q

What you don't get, is the fact that you never EVER get your money back on modifications... heres an example...

Say you brought a 1.1 fiesta for 500 quid, spent 100 putting it through a MOT, then you spent

150 on a xr2i bodykit
800 on a install and ice
then 800 having the seats retrimmed
then 2000 having it full resprayed and smoothed doors etc

youve spent near on 3 grand, but under all that fancy paintwork, and bits, its still a 500 quid mark 3 fiesta? You understand what people are trying to say?

Classic example, go look at festa Si ? is it? his old Si, the one he dismantled, had a rotten fuel cap?

As a whole car, i thought that would fetched 1500 - 2000 is easy, but once all the goodies are removed from it, its just a basic rotten fiesta underneath it all ?

Same with your, i know its not rotten ? I know its not a 500 quid mk3 1100, but still you will never get 5 grand for it, and if your hoping to, i suggest you take it to bits and sell the goodies, and sell it standard ish?

Your looking at 2750 tops for that as it stands id say...

Sorry to piss on your bonfire, its all about ' realise '
 :P

but even if that car had a high spec 2.1ZT u would be lucky to get £4k,
we are all trying to help u here mate, not trying to rob u of any of your asking price. but fact is, every says " oh yeah just get the right lad /girl through the door" and all that, but thing is, lads/girls aint stupid no more.

cos they are going to look at your fiesta, then look at what else they could have for £5k, there are some bloody nice motors around for 5k now such as:

1997 R Bmw 328 i Sport Coupe with all mtec extras , leather,aircon etc.
examples can be had for 5k, Scooby, cheap EVO1/2 lancer,M3 etc.

personally if i were u i would stick the price at £2995 ONO, then PRAY to high heaven for anything remotely near it, cos from the mods uve listed i cant personnally see where the 9k has gone, cos it certainly doesnt show, by looking at it i would say no more than £3000 has gone into it
