Jeez. Thanks.

I'm beginning to wonder about using the Mk3 as a Daily Driver now. It's getting difficult to find decent parts If something breaks. Shame really, but I guess it had to happen eventually!

It's right :( I couldn't even find a pattern set either! Ran lower spec ones for a while until they gave in now using Vib's :)

These are no longer available from Ford or Ford Parts UK - the engine mounts are also unavailable for the Zetec models.

I tried a diesel mount once and found it vibrated worse at idle than my fast road Vibratechnics! In fact when cruising at 70 on a motorway it was awful.

Simon, that's because Diesel mounts require a Diesel specific cradle and gearbox brackets due to the mounts being located in a slightly different position.

So does that mean that they're stiffer, but due to the cradle design and mount positioning, there is a lower level of noise and vibration?

I've not actually been in a MK3 diesel, so I have no idea what they're like. But from what you say, I'm guessing that they don't vibrate anything like I found?

The van ones are stiffer, but hatchback Diesel mounts are pretty close to Zetec mounts. Your's vibrated more as the mount was in at a non-optimal angle.

The old Kent shakes away like a good 'un, the Diesels are pretty far from vibration free :D
