what guage steel should i use ? for engine mounts
not sure if this is the right section.. just wondering if anybody nos what guage/thickness i should you use to make engine mounts. ? cheers.
or does anybody no any companys that will make custom mounts ?

i would use 5 or 6mm if it was me, depending on the mount, if it wasnt load bearing then a well done 3mm mount would suffice.

nice one, its for my fiesta, mounting blacktop 2.0 zetec with the 6 speed box. need to fab a mount for the engine side as im using the focus mount but need to make a lower part to sit on the leg. and also am thinking about making a mount from the front member to the block to loose some of the twist of the engine.

3mm is plenty if fabricted properly its all abot the shape
