i would use 5 or 6mm if it was me, depending on the mount, if it wasnt load bearing then a well done 3mm mount would suffice.

nice one, its for my fiesta, mounting blacktop 2.0 zetec with the 6 speed box. need to fab a mount for the engine side as im using the focus mount but need to make a lower part to sit on the leg. and also am thinking about making a mount from the front member to the block to loose some of the twist of the engine.

3mm is plenty if fabricted properly its all abot the shape but one of mine is 5mm but 3mm would have done fine there is no mounting points on a m3 fiesta thicker than 4mm.
