Some gammon slipper came around a corner on the wrong side of the road and I took avoiding action through a grass verge and then a two foot thick dry stone wall. Found out that the air bag worked at least!

Make sure the gimp admits liability for causing the accident.

Well make sure you report it to the police to make it official. Then inform your insurance company. They may be able to sort something out, considering it was criminal negligence that caused it.

Will they still do that even though he doesnt have a reg number for the other driver?

Does claiming from the MIB effect you no claims bonus?

Yep and Nope, (well it does until the claim is finished) ie your Ins Co will minus all NCB until its been settled, so unless you crash at renewal time, theres no porbs

they have 2 services, Untraced Drivers, and Uninsured Drivers.

Provided the police were invoilved at some point, theres a £300 excess and they will cough out for the cost, as long as he doesnt make it sound like he was pissed up and ran into a wall, should be fine :)

Congrats mate I've never seen one as mashed as that, and I've seen a few.

I hate to think how much worse it would have been in a mk3, you're a lucky man.

Thanks everyone, I've had some big ones myself in Fiestas but usally glancing blows. This stopped dead after demolishing the wall and I and girlfriend have some cracking bruises from the seat belts!

I've had car delivered back to home now and I can say that these pictures really dont do it justice! The passenger front wheel must have moved backwards ten inches!. All the front suspension has extreme bends in main components and has nearly broken off from the chassis leg! There are eight seperate ripples in the roof. Passenger wing has been pushed four inches behind the door. Passenger foot well is now half the size it once was as the the gearbox cradle has virtually bent double and thrown the engine and box backwards. The windscreen wipers!!!??? have shattered the windscreen and the A pillars have bent backwards at the bottom popping the screen out. Dashboard has cracked off from the bulkhead and then the floor has such a big ripple in it that the centre console is about six inches lower than it should be! My leather Ghia gear knob has smashed all the buttons from the stereo as well! I have absolutely no idea how the girlfriend and I walked away from this, to hospital but we walked!
