Tyre Widths

Mike,

A good option is 7x15" alloys (35mm offset - ET35) and 195/45x15 Goodyear F1 tyres. This avoids the wheels fouling the suspension, and keeps the rolling radius the same as the 14" std Ford option (185/55R14).

Wider wheels can cause problems with suspension/arch clearance. Most people stick with a 7" wide rim, be it 13" or up to 17". You can get away with a 7.5" rim, but need to check clearances. Usually the wheels foul the arches, especially at the front, and if the car is lowered.

James
