rev counter

hey, i am wondering how easy it is to wire in a set of clocks with a rev counter built in, i am a mk4 escort was 1.3 cvh now 2ltr was gonna buy one of those massive dash mount counters but managed to get a set or esrs clocks with similar milage to my orginal ones, just wondering how easy it is to wire them up?

should be quite easy, i think when we did my brothers mk3 1.1 hcs the wire was already there but not certain on that, either way it was pretty simple to do

im sure someone else on here can be more descriptive though :P

Simple mate, take a feed from the green wire on the zetec engine bay loom where it would attatch to the car loom and run it to the correct pin for rev gauge on clocks, I doubt your car loom will have a wire for a rev counter already. Most base spec models dont

had a problem fitting the clocks. on my original 1.3 clocks there are two shorter connections on them rather than on the new escort rst one there are two longer plugs? is there any way around this, or am i going to have to get the longer plugs of a escort rs thats being broken??

you will need the other plugs and then chop/swap the wires to the right places
