Re: Really need help with speakers
Hi mate, whats your overall budget for speakers and a headunit? Let me know and ill work out a good deal for you...
Also, speaker adapters are recommended for the fiesta, which allow 5.25" (13cm) speakers to be fitted
Are you looking for components or coaxial speakers?
Components are slightly ore time consuming to wire in...they have seperate midrange and tweeter drivers which allow the tweeters to be placed either near the midrange in the door, or up on the dash etc. These come with a little crossover box which everything needs to be wired into. However, once they are setup correctly, they sound awesome!
Coaxial is the opposite, they have the tweeter and midrange placed in one driver. This allows easy fitment and is literally plug and play. The downside is due to the positioning of the fiesta speakers, ALL the sound will be coming from the bottom of the doors. However, they can sound as good as components...but only when fired on axis. These obviously offer less flexibility when it comes to adjusting the sound to suit what you want, but make up for in ease of fitting

Re: Really need help with speakers
ok so i went ahead and ordered a sony btu-3700u for the head unit. speakers im undecided about but thinking ill spend 40-70 on the two for the doors?? ive been looking at the 5.25 speakers and on one of the guides on FT it said the original speakers in the mk3 were 5.25" so would they not just screw in or am i being naive?? oh and after what you said id prob go for co-ax speakers.
thanks for the help,

Re: Really need help with speakers
I can get you a really good set of Rockford fosgate coaxials for that money...ever so slightly out of your budget will be CDT's...
Will you be amping the speakers at any stage? or just run from the stereo?
If you need ISO's etc let me know as I have them in stock
