Nurburgring 2010?
Im looking to go back to the Nurburgring in 2010, would anyone from here be interested in going too?
I havent got any dates yet, but i will get some together if theres any interest from people on here. A rough cost of the trip will be £700-800 depending on how many laps you buy etc. That estimate includes accomodation, ferries, food, drink and so on
Please post if your interested

Wouldn't take the fiesta, but if the 206 is replaced by then, I'd be up for it.

Re: Nurburgring 2010?
Good to see some interest. The cost i put in the first post is an estimate only. It includes
Petrol-£200
Accomodation-£100, the more sharing the cheaper it gets
Food and drink-£100-150
Laps of the circuit-£22.50 each
Insurance for the nurburgring-£100-200 (depending on so many factors)
Ferry-£60 ish
European breakdown cover-£50
They are roughly the prices i paid when i went a couple of months ago, so they will change slightly.
I have no idea of dates, once theres enough interest ill try and find when the circuit is open for touristfharten time and we can start throwing some dates around

Re: Nurburgring 2010?
I'd love to go but im unsure if my age is a restriction :S
im 18 with just about a years worth of driving under my belt (by the time it comes around next year it will be 2 years) am i aloud to drive abroad etc or do i have to be a certain age with enough driving experience ???
also would my insurance be void if they found out i was driving over there??
Cheers, Grant

I honestly cant answer that mr muzzy, it all depends on your insurer. Some require you let them know your going abroad, some dont. Some have age restrictions, some dont. Best check with them

Re: Nurburgring 2010?
I've been thinking about this alot, it seems to be a worth while trip as many people have made out, I would have to take the beemer though if I went.
Remember Fuel cost depends on driving style and car, driving like a loony in a car that does around 20 mpg aint going to be cheap, so when you think it aint going to be too bad all in re-think.
Also, insurance on the Ring is a must, with-out it if you crash and/or hold up any customers, they have the right to charge you for repairs and custom loss = Big bills.
Break down cover (Europeon) might be needed dependant on how much you know/trust your car, with-out it if you are unlucky to break down over in Germany, think of the garage bills and parts cost, take basic parts and tools. Brake pads and tyres may wear out quickley in some cases.
Car insurance needs to be checked for Europeon cover, it will very most likely exclude use on the Nurburgring so as said insurance must also be taken out while you are there.
I hope this is a bit of a guidance for anyone thinking of going. Mike.

I shall be out there a few times this year, starting by going out to watch the 24 Hour Race.
Was out there a few times last year, loved it as usual. Got plenty of local friends out there for help and etc, so if you need any info PM me.
