Insurance with engine conversion
Hi everyone. I'm new to the site so be nice
Looking to buy a cheap XR2i soon as a project throughout the summer, with the intention of fitting an RS Turbo engine. Seems like the best option rather than trying to hunt down a tired RST at a good price.
I understand that insurers tend to charge more for cars with engine swaps than what an original RST would cost, however seeing as the xr2i is the closest model to the RST can i expect the price difference to be less than what it would cost if the engine swap was done in say a 1.1 fiesta?
This seems to be a common engine swap. can anyone share their experiances with insurance?
