i got it from a local scrappy, central locking, leccy windows, switches and loom- £70.
i know its not cheap but they were the only scrappy in staffs with the stuff- i phoned every scrappy and parts place in the yellow pages!

anyway when i got them home i realised they weren't gonna fit! i got them off a 5 door and i never realised the doors were shorter! s**t!

i've joined the manual regulator assembly to the leccy motor and i reckon it should work.

also ive got both central locking motors but only 1 latch. the only differnce between the manual one is a lever which connects to the motor so i'm goning to try and fabricate one for the normal latch.

oh, you were right about the rivets!
i've never seen the 2 door set-up but when i offered them up to the door with the motor in place, the regulator was no where near the manual regulator fixing points. i thought i could have drilled new rivet holes but there was no suitable mounting points how it sat. the tension cables were visibly a lot shorter than the manual ones and the regulator mounting points different.

anyway, i've already chopped up the electric regulator so i've got to make it fit

rob
i don't have the motors but i can get them for you, i'm going back the scrappy tomorrow anyway.
tell me how much you want to pay and i'll see if i can get them.

all the central locking motors are the same i think. on the back they are connected to the latch with a rod and operate it like the lock barrel would on the front i.e. pulling or pushing the rod (the is no lock on the back see

on the front the front the motor is screwed onto the latch and works by pulling and pushing a lever on the latch. this lever is the only difference between central locking latches and normal ones.

the motor can be attached to the manual latch but you will need to fabricate a lever which is what i'm doing ....breath...

i tried mine today and it worked after applying a tin of wd40 to the latch. still isn't sorted though cos i need to fabricate said lever and wire in the loom... then there's the windows!

hope thats of some use
l8er!

Right, forgive me if I sound a little distracted (I'm eyeing up the most gorgeous brunette you've ever seen... )

I think I'm gonna sell one of the door lock motors and keep the other for the passenger side unless somebody makes me a reasonable offer (reasonable - I'm not looking to be a millionaire on this one...)

Sorry to mess you all about like this :-/

central lockings in!
my home-made latch lever works a treat!
if i'd have known this before i could have just bought 2 motors and saved me 'sen some cash.

now i can get me new alarm sorted, but i'm leaving the windows for a while as i've got no time.
coursework deadline in 5 weeks..aahhh!

they do actually work which was quite a suprise but they dont want to go right up to the top for some reason.

The glass is probably slightly out of alignment - it should be fitted pressed up against the rear guide rail, I think - otherwise, it'll jam at the top, as I found when I re-fitted my newly tinted bad boys

Or you could have a problem somewhere, or the position of the wire might be wrong, so the motor thinks its reached the top of the door 'cos it's run out of wire... who knows???

i think its the wire 'cos they're not supposed to be there!

i think cutting back the cable sheath would cure it but thats next to impossible. i might try and cut the little green tension spring guide thingies.
also the upper cable is way too long but theres not really much i can do about that either. they still fit in though..just.
if i cant do it i'll just make an adaptor bracket to raise the window up a bit.

probably wise, but i paid good money for them so i'm determined to make them fit!

should have plenty of time in the summer though before i trek off to uni
i'm really looking forward to spending some quality time with me motor
lots of things need doing

Y'know, in the name of reliability and fiddling about with funny s*** and extremely powerful motors, glass, etc, I think I'm gonna just go buy the bloody frame that I should-a nicked when I got the motors!
