Hi guys starting to think about doing my dissertation i know i want to do it on health and safety but not sure about what topic to do it on, any suggestions as to what i could write about its gotta be about 12000 words so must be able to find a lot of info, its bloody harder thank you think when you are asked to choose you own topic:(

H&S for what? What type of qualification/degree is it?

If its a BSc/BA you need to be fairly specific, for example, my construction management BSc dissertation title was "Spend to Save - An assessment ofthe likely impact of the code for sustainable homes on affordable housing". For an MSc/MA and further you will need to be more niche still.

A popular subject at the moment is Health and Safety in the oil industry, especially after the Gulf of Mexico explosion.

HSE in the UK are now stepping up inspections as some of the platforms in the North Sea are coming up to 40 years old.

Good call. I expect quality and project assurance are expressions you're coming to hate of late too

EDIT : Just seen Farooq's last post, I'd say that even a cursory glance at Gregs workplace would give most risk analysts the willies
