Nova's handle better?

Novas look s**t and have no respect, they are common chive mobiles and outdated piles of crap. Fiestas on the other hand are totally oposite of that! :aviator:

Don't think your going to get much of a debate here more of a one sided opinion.

I used to love Nova GSi's back when I first started driving because they were still expensive then and boy racers couldn't afford them, a few years passed and prices dropped and every chive had a Nova SR with a peco exhaust :(

If I was looking for another retro project now, think it would be a MK1 Golf with a 2l turbo conversion.

I like Novas, back when I was looking for my 1st car it was always the Nova Sri that I was going to see. However I seen the light and bought a Xr2i instead. My mate at the time had a SR, and I was so glad I got the Ford. I think the Nova is now a rare car, gone are the chive days and you only tend to see the nicer examples now which is good imo. Anyone seen that very standard grey SR on ebay?

Fiesta.

Really not a surprise that people on a Fiesta forum prefer Fiesta's.

Quite a silly question for a Fiesta forum, but I'll go against the grain and say the Nova is the better choice for getting power on the road, they just seem to be better at it than the Fiesta.

However the FRST looks miles better than any Nova, and will be almost as quick...

Always had a soft spot for novas, dunno why. I'm with Jamie though, if I wanted a project car now I'd probably be looking at a golf or maybe corrado. I've toyed with the idea of another fiesta almost endlessly, but I don't think I'd really enjoy it any more. Just got old, I guess.

I love corrado's, always wanted one as its a rare car, mainly due to them costing so much originaly.

When I bought my grey RS Turbo, I almost bought an Astra GSi instead. So glad I didn't now, they look really dated where as the fiesta is still looking great for it's age.

The XU10J4RS is probably one of my favourite engines ever :aviator: :aviator:

To answer the topic in hand though, i personally would go for a Nova. Always liked them, particularly a 1.3 sr in jamaica yellow. I think the fiestas look better, but a LET is far easier to get more power from. Both will rust as quick as they can. The nova will more than likely perform better on track, and there seems to be more tuning parts available for them too.

i honestly dont like novas think they look old and are a cheap horrible car
but then i have a mk3 astra van modified with redtop engine and running gear and been played with running 206bhp very fun to drive especially when you beat all the silly golfs and that off the lights
but cannot knock a fiesta rs as they are ultimate to drive and used to make me smile every time i drove my old one and love the look of a standard one :D

If it was a near standard nova verses mk2 fiesta My Nova saloon was such a toy 1.4, 4 doors and a boot big enough to take a familly of 4 on holiday for a week. Useless for sound system. I had the higher hp engine of the 1.4s with 1.6 fuel pump and k&n and that would kill an XR2 of the line to 60-70mph. But the handling wasnt as good. It was superb for hand brake and reverse donuts and j turns ect. Cheaper to run than xr2 as well. Better gear ratios to. If I had uprated the suspension It might have handled better :-? Mine did rot but only paid £120 with 6 months mot and 3 months tax. It cost about £70 on each of the two mot's over the years, but water pump failed spent £60 but it never run again. Messed up the timeing

Fine in a straight line, vastly superior engines to the Ford offerings at the time (still the case - got a Corsa VXR Artic that makes 220BHP from it's 1.6 Turbo standard - Ford have got some catching up to do) I would say the image that went with them has always been there downfall.

Nova is superior to a Fiesta on track whether it be Rallycross, Short Oval etc, they seem to be a lot better at getting the power down and have taller gear ratios, slightly lighter iirc.

TBH it would take a lot of work to get any Fiesta to match a 2.0 N/A or Turbo Nova, the Nova can be built on a much tighter budget as well.

The late model SRs and GSi's were nice cars, you can't beat a standard looking one with a C20LET engine and Courtney rims.
