Amendments to insurance group ratings
If your vehicle was registered in 1994 or after you insurance group will have changed. Ie a group 3 may well now be a group 9 with a prefix letter etc. This is because there are now 50 insurance groups rather than 20. this came into force on the 01st Jan 2010 and is based on information collected since 1994. It has taken 3 years to study and set up. How this will effect premuims I do not know yet

What happens if your car is pre 1994 then? Is it still 20 groups for them?

That appears to be the trend at the moment. I can't see how, but fully comp for me on a Satria GTi works out at £1200, whereas TFTP comes to £1700....!

Re: Amendments to insurance group ratings
mines always been a few quid cheeper to insure fc but check the excess its nothing on tpft but if your under 25 or havent had x amount of exp driving theres a compulsary excess then theres a voluntary one too
saying that i just payed £511 for 10 months cover on a 1.8 focus and have a 150 quid excess ( payed more to reduce it!
) not bad considering im 25 and have 0years ncb!
