Yes, changing to direct port instead which gives a much better boost for the same size shot so even if it makes 170bhp + 50bhp shot i'l get over 200 n/a

Gave the bay a quick clean and cut the old engine mounting area out today, and gave the area a lick of paint. It could do with grinding back a bit more tbh, but time is tight for fitp, the car may be tidied up a bit later in the year so can sort bay out then.

No mate, it fouls on the 'brakcet' going down from the chassis leg to the front bolt on the lower arm carrier.

Ah never mind. I'm watching a new loom on ebay so hopefully pick that up (as long as it has all the wires!) fit the connectors and have it running soonish!

Re: 2.0 ST170 Bonus Dirtbox Sleeper - Update 20/3
I had a spare 20 mins this morning so dropped the engine in.. As you do!

Mount is sitting pretty close to the wing (its touching)

The sump needs a bit more modifying, its currently resting on the CV so im going to chop a bit more of where it is, not lifting out again
And where the focus inner wing mount needs to be welded in

I reckon so as it sits, not sure if Brian is planning to cut the last of old mounting down or take a bit off the bracket.

Re: 2.0 ST170 Bonus Dirtbox Sleeper - Update 29/3
Little more update, started fiddling with the mount more. Ive got to hack a bit more out of the inner wing / strut and then plate it up to give clearance. Im also going to have to make a spacer to weld in from the front of the mount to the chassis leg, and cut a little triangle to go in at the back of the mount, sadly the angle grinder went up in smoke so i couldnt make up the rest of the bits ready for welding.

Re: 2.0 ST170 Bonus Dirtbox Sleeper - Update21/4 - Engine fitted
He had to do a little patch over where i had butchered before but its a nicer shape i think than the original. Cant take credit for the welding, was done by an old boy we use. Got the bit of st170 mount tacked in and then build the rest up with one rectangle bit and a few triangles for strength. Suprisingly good clearance for working on the cambelt side of the engine.

Replacement head is built up, the missing cam bearing wasn't replaceable and not to be found
I've lapped in all 16 valves, just need to check the clearance if the litters now, and return the valve spring compressor to halfords!
