White Fiesta RS Turbo - MOT Passed

Postby mrorange2 on Sat Feb 05, 2011 4:50 pm

Yep i have another FRST my 5th one now lol and i can say this is by far the best :D

Been looking for a mint one for a while when i saw this come up i thought i would have to have a look at it. Bit of history its been owned since new by an old woman so 1 owner from new :o :D and i must say you can tell!

Machnically its sounds what ever its needed its had starts on the button, steering, clutch, brakes everything all works brill. No knocks or ratlles.

Interior is FANTASTIC!!!! and i really mean that the steering wheel is like its never been touched it has the original gearknob some wear on this but still good, The seats are again like new. Carpets all very clean so tears rips or anything also orginal stereo.

The body work this is where it needs some TLC there is very little rust on the car few tiny little scabs here and there nothing major but the petrol cap has been done in the past and it was done to a very poor standard its been filled and painted in what i would say is beige lol

Plans are as follows:
Paint work will be done within the next week or two going to bodyshop next week.
Refurb the alloys
Clean engine bay as this needs a very good clean
Service engine
cambelt change
exhaust as it has some mild steel system on it none ford.

Amazing where these pop up from really isn't it. in the best colour of course :Q

Looks an excellant base, I personally would have a new quarter panel put in Tim, only real way to rid the cap area of rot.

Engine bay needs a good buff doesn't it

I'm sure you'll bring it up nicely.

So what plans have you got, keep standard or modify ?, I have some red original leads if your interested

Just checked the engine bay picture, those leads are soooo dirty :o

I'd go for a non genuine quarter panel, I had one on my Red FRST and it fitted fine, Hadrian one iirc,
once fitted and painted nobody will know.

nice example you got there mate, its a shame about the bad repair on the rear quarter, you can even see where the filler roughly is as the swage line is gone

Ollie - your more than welcome to come round have a look and a cuppa! I have fitted the decat now mate also fitted the big intercooler to it and i can say its F**king brill lol pulls like a train now keeps up with most things and still get 46mpg :D

Jony - not 100% sure what its getting done at bodyshop yet but i would expect depending on costs of new panel it will get a full respray kit and bumpers off and all resprayed in Diamond White! not biege lol. I also agree its very hard to find one thats not over 100k this one has only just ticked over 100k and the way it drives you would think its done about 20k lol was driving it sunday and just over the moon with it that old lady sure did look after it :D :D

RST-Steve - i think i could safely say its not been thrashed i cant believe how well it drives everything works great and pulls very well for a standard car.

Its down at the bodyshop booked in for next week to get the following done:

Bumpers, arches, skirts, stripes, bonnet, boot and windows off
Petrol cap area took back and sorted out waiting to see what its like behind the filler to see if it needs a panel or not
all rust and dents tooks out
then full respray in diamond white
alloys refurb aswell

I had considered going frozen white but for originality its staying Diamond white. Work starts on monday so i will be popping down each dinner and take a few piccys and watch progress.

thats great news mate, its going to be transformed by the end, you should not go see it and by the end it will be like "move that bus" and gasp :P

do you know how much the bodyshop charges for a full body machine polish or what they do to bring it back to life but not respraying it?

i feel my car needs it, the paints a bit tired but its got the potential to come back i think
