what springs?

Postby twistedtomo on Sun Sep 30, 2012 10:28 am

Hi want to lower my fiesta turbo by 60mm, but which springs do i need? Am i right in saying the fiesta turbo is 20 mm lower than standard from the factory? so if i got 60 mm lowering spings it would take it to 80mm? or is all that a myth? The more i look on ebay at all the different spring kits the more confused i get as some adverts exclude the turbo some say may be lower due to manufacturers origonal specs etc.
Ideally i want it to sit like this (1.8 zetec origonally a 1.1 sitting on a 60mm gmax spring and shock kit for a 1.1)

60mm will drop 60mm. the 20mm lower than standaard on the rst's is just a shorter spring, so, swapping the rst springs from 20mm drop to 60mm will still be 60mm
I’d rather lose by a mile because I built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me. Your car, is your story, so don’t let someone else write the book. – MOOG (Mighty Car Mods)

Poverty / std spec = 60mm drop.

XR/RS w. existing 20mm = 40mm drop.

Unless specified for a particular model, ride height changes are always with reference to a base spec model.
Nothing to see here...
