Editing page is larger, but the font on the forums hasn't changed in size since I logged earlier tonight?

Edit... oh hang on, it looks like it's all shrunk a bit. Is Ade tinkering?

I'm on Tapatalk at the moment on my calculator but my sig disappeared.

Perhaps I should remove the URL tags.

OK, sig issue is now fixed I think. There may still be a problem with very wide ones, but the ones that link are all now showing again.

Very wide ones shouldn't be allowed anyway. 400 x 100 max. I remember when we had rules about this stuff!

I've done that and those topics no longer wrap. The font order specifies Helvetica Neue then Arial and Helvetica is wider at the same size than Arial so lines are linger. I think it's just me and you using a Mac so no-one else will have seen this!

This is what I'm getting at the moment, font sizes seem to be a bit all over the shop at the moment. The buttons at the top get smaller as does the text when I refresh the page. I believe it all started after I clicked the text size button. Tried clearing cache and cookies etc, it just doesn't want to revert back.

(Windows 7, Chrome latest)

Does the issue manifest itself on a browser other than Chrome ?

I ask because I've had quite a few odd CSS related issues with chrome where pages have rendered properly on other browsers but not on that. Typically it's web-based control panels rather than publicly accessible pages so it's likely they aren't really standards compliant, but it's worth bearing in mind. :)

It's because in typical Chrome fashion, it doesn't actually clear the cache completely when you tell it to.

Instead go to Users in the Settings page and click on "Delete This User", that then resets it properly. Although it probably also deletes your bookmarks (I don't have any anyway) so I'd back them up first.

Yup, that's fixed it. Stupid Chrome. You would have assumed that clearing the cache from the beginning of time would sort it! Deleted the user, and works fine.

If its any consolation, it didn't happen with Safari on my Mac, but then I didn't click the text resize button there.

One has to ask, is the button required now, where all OS's contain accessibility features better suited to adjusting the fonts?

It happened to me in Mac Safari after clicking the button. The difference being when I clicked "Reset Safari" it actually did what it was supposed to do.

I don't think it is. I've removed it and the JavaScript that contained the font size switcher.

Excellent response Ade. Will certainly help standardise the font size!

While we're talking about enhancements, any chance of integrating something like this Adrian?

https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/ ... isolation/

It allows a user to filter a thread by a particular user. For example, if I want to look through Excursions 46-page thread but only want to see his updates (and none of the comments/criticism), it allows me to filter Mark's topic so that it only shows posts by Mark.

Would that be possible? It would be so convenient. :)

Now that you've removed the footer section, when the page is too short, the grey background doesn't fill.

Like so;

I didn't remove the footer, it broke. 'tis back now!

There's still a gap on short pages though, I'll add that to my to-do list.
