Turbo cooler location and fitting help

Postby 2105adam on Tue Sep 04, 2012 11:54 am

Hi, I am looking to buy a turbo cooler for my MK3 Fiesta track car as it seems to be running pretty hot and anthing to help cool it would be good. It running a zetec turbo with a standard FRS GT25 turbo and manifold, water is being fed by pipes from Pro allo race radiator at the moment.

Now as far as fitting is concerned, where would I want the "heated" water from the turbo cooler to go once it leaves the turbo rad, does it go to the header tank or through the radiator?

Does anyone have pics that they could show mw please as I will be fitting it myself.

Thanks,

Adam

on my 1 the water pipe on the back of the turbo went into the fiesta top rad hose,
the water pipe on the front of turbo went to the bottom outlet on t/c (turbo cooler)
and the top outlet t/c went to the side of original frst rad
im by no means saying ive got the t/c piped up correctly but its only i could find looking at pics of others
failing that give airtec a ring and ask about it

Are you running some form of oil cooling? If not, you need to.

Im not saying its correct thats just how it was the car had a front mount intercoller and the turbo coller went where the standard ic was

my ford falcon also got over heated problem... help??

Postby David William on Mon Nov 05, 2012 4:18 pm

its better to buy new one.. because with new turbo car runs very smoth and the engine also does not get over heated.. All Turbo had turbochargers that provided additional air to the engine, which created more power. These turbochargers relied on exhaust gases to create the additional power, which drastically increased the engine's heat production. This extra heat made it necessary for the coolant system to function optimally. Low coolant levels, coolant leaks or not adding the proper type of coolant could cause the engine to overheat.
From few days even i am facing problem with my new ford falcon as it gets over heated..
I recently bought a ford falcon model, the car looks good on the outside. The problem is i only drove a 23 mile from the auction at which point it started overheating, i stopped the engine immediately in case i caused more damage. I have since changed the water pump, thermostat, and had the head done, but the problem is still there. Anybody help please.. what should i do next..?????
