ST170 front brakes on a Fiesta

Postby BOBFRST on Sat Jan 11, 2014 2:00 pm

Right ive had a change of heart & for speed ive decided for now not to fit my Focus RS MK1 Brembos to the FRST cos im gona need parts fabricated to fit the Fezz...... but only for now i will have them........oh yes :D so instead im thinking of an ST170 300mm conversion as i already have some of the parts lying around including discs, my question is are there any particular mods i need to do to the hubs like drilling them out or any spacing calipers required? also can i squeeze them under my 15's or will i need 16's? I know some of you guys have definately done it so your help will be much appreciated :D

I think they fit straight on without having to drill the hubs, the calipers will fit under 15's with some modification. There's a guy on zsoc that sells them ready to fit under 15's. Im not sure how much of a difference there is with braking performance, but fiesta ST brakes fit straight on without modification and perform very well in my experience. 20mm smaller though.

They need the hub drilled to 12mm, they are 10mm standard. And as above Big G on zsoc will sort you out with. Good deal on all you need.

Thanks Russ, did you get the mk3 mondeo calipers or ST170's mate? think i may have to grind a little off them anyway to squeeze em under my 15" Escort GTI wheels, want to keep em cos she handles really nicely on them & the boots are cheaper

I used the mk3 I think? Mondeo calipers mate. Yes they fit under 15's I had them and still do under Saxo vts wheels, need a little grinding off but doesn't take a lot I used a file and only took 10mins so 2 minute job with a grinder lol
I don't know what clearance is like on the escort wheels but they are pretty god damn close to the Saxo wheels
