to get the rear beam smooth i used an orbital sander and some tuff sand paper,

then spent about 2 days getting it as smooth as poss there is lots of sides to sand

then a coat of hammerite hammered black apllyed with a brush, i think i did about 3 decent coats, good fun

did the same on the Fule Tank, Roll bar n claps and the underside of the boot floor

MaxMXWW: yeah i'm thinking of diffrent plates, probaly a small one for the front, what do you mean by standard? can you get them with a Ford RS dealership name on the bottom? that would be cool

thanks for the coments people

love it, looking really good :Q :Q

you mentioned you got anti lag on you new set up. do u mean u have the option for it? or you actually have it working? i thought u needed a maram shaft in your turbo or the turbo would just s**t itself straight away?

guessing you were happy with torque of the devil, im planning on getting mine set up there once its running :)

looking sweet with the green strips :Q

Really liking what you have done with the car and the black wheels look great, which i might do myself  i cheated with my rear beam by getting it powder coated, so now burshes, files or angle grinders :D

thanks for the replies people

Ram: the anti lag is turned on and its only a mild form so there is no real need for the maram247 shaft they are mega exspensive, the ECU also has the option for loads more tricks like launch control, full throttel gear shifts, hard or soft cut rev limiters and even shift lights, but i didnt have enough funds to link up every thing i wanted yet  i'll keep ya up-dated

jayrs: thanks dude i'll give HIC a try :)

catch you later

elo

i'v had the gear linkage out of the RST this time to try and get rid of a nasty case of Mr Floppy  felt like it you could get 8 gears! and after having a drive in my Dads really low millage one n feeling what the linkage should feel like i tought it was time to sort it out

so i dropped the linkage out

Image

split it up, EWWWWW lots of nasty black grease

i got some new blocks and springs off ebay

Image

i dunno if you can make it out but the old ones have got a very worn edge and the new ones are nice n square :)
Image
Image

the old springs where nicely compressed too

Image

the linkage cleaned up quite nice

Image

so i'v put it back toghether with fresh grease, bolted it all back in and its much better, almost like new or rather like my old mans one

the blocks n springs where in Ford packets don't know weather they you still get them from Ford but the numbers are:
6 172 154 pasador-segurid
you get 1 spring and 1 block per packet so you need 2 really

i'v also been gathering up bits n pices for my T3 conversion and got a decent sized air filter at the weekend

Image
Image

hmmmm might be abit of squeeze :)

catch you later

if anyone has got Fast Car mag yet you will see my Fiesta RST on pages 049 and 052, part of cruise nation, just lil pictures but makes me happy :)

it was a cruise organised by one of my local car clubs Southern Modified Car Club, who i have been a member of for some time and was a X Sport Racing, in Basingstoke.

lil caption on page 049 "watsssssch" thats exactly how it sounds

just noticed this update..

yeh im thinking of doing batt to boot. purely because ive now stripped my rear out. but i dont wanna cage it as thats just putting weight bk in. so i might stick a battery in there just to make it look abit more busy in the back

well done on getting ur car in the mag. ive always wanted mine in a mag, even if its just a small pic. but i never have it out the garage long enough to get it around lol.
was it a good cruise then? i miss oldskool chavy cruises so much. we used to go reading cruise back in the day when i had a punto gt rep lol. and those were some of the most fun evenings ive ever had :Q

ace cafe and chealsea bridge are the nearest i get to crusies these days :(

thanks dude

yeah the cruz was gr8, had some side by side racing as it was an empty industrial estate at 9pm on a saturday but the police soon stopped that

i had some good times at Reading cruz back in the days  with my Mk1 XR2 n SR Nova on 40's, got kinda dodgy though with a bad atmosphere after a HUGH gang fight kicked off one night then pikes moved in, was gr8 fun hammering up there with my lil crew  got my 1st points on the dual carageways too  shame its stopped pretty much now

there is still a good Jap night on thow 3rd tuesday of the month which is properly organised which i get to in my Civic VTI (every day drive)

i no what you mean about the backend looking bare too,its just beeging for a cage! but mine feels a lil twitchy when hard on the 4pots now :) some scary moments when combine with rear discs befor the adjustable bias valve was fitted
