Just glued in the bumperlip.. and screwed it into place.. the screws have been removed now..

BTTT :-p

new update.. testfitted the front bumper.. it was hard to fit.. cause the bumper would flex hardly around the corners .

and testfitted the espace lip..

espace or the smaller laguna.. what should i do according to you guys (and girls)??

Image

Testfitted the mondeo spoiler... no direct fit..
Image

then we had to adjust the spoiler to fit..
We had to shorten it.. and grind the RS spoiler shape into the mondy spoiler..

now it's ready to be smoothed in.. the 2 spoilers are perfectly lined up and it's not an overdone look.. just smooth.. the way i wanted it
Image

Closeup... after this picture.. the mondy spoiler was bonded to the RS spoiler with polyester .. and all the gaps were closed... but that is for the next update...

Update nr .. ehhm lost track

been busy again .. .. pulled the front wings outwards a bit to match up with the wider front bumper..

Image

taken off .. and out all the excess bits .. not needed in the car at the momente. gonna clean after all the sanding and grinding has been done.

the engine loom is nearly disconnected .. after that we can take the dash out (the loom is tie wrapped to the dash)

Image

The smoothing in of the rear spoilers is nearly finished.. due to the white the curves are not very clear.. but i assure you .. it's a pretty smooth sight.. we will just have to solve one minor detail... the gap between the 2 spoilers is THAT small that even sand-dust stick between it.. so i guess we have to same a bit off to create a gap wide enough to stay open after spraying on the primer-filler and paint.. OR we have to full up the gap completely (with chance of cracking of course) and make some drainage holes .. still not sure of what to do .. .. advice me!!! :-p

Image

Keep you informed

Has it been snowing in Holland ??

naah .. the car is (partially) primered and sprayed with contrast paint..

Image

The engine has been removed.. and 3/4 of the underside is cleared now..

Most of the bottom is nearly free of rust.. the engine compartment has some though..

Image
The front doesn't look sweet .. thinking about putting in a new... or de-rusting this one.. .. nut sure yet..

Image

The left beam has some rust on the underside.. but will be treated..
the battery tray will be cut out .. and the battery will be placed in the back of the car to save space for a decent air-filter (cossie style ?? )

and ehhm last but not least.. we've decided to cut the standard RS spoiler a bit.. so that the rainwater etc will flow off the spoiler with more ease..

A small update.. no pics this time (yet)

The primer was sanded .... but didn't stick on the new panels )-: possibly due to the 'cold' temp during spraying and hardning.. so we have to sand the complete car down again (will get a REAL smooth finish this way though) .. but ok .. that's a minor setback ..

We sanded the car the last 2 evenings.. and it is almost finished sanding..

We started on the front yesterday.. the rust is just supericial .. and no panels will have to be replaced.. we're going to sand it all down, remove all rust that is there .. but firstly we will make the shape look good.. For the T3 conversion.. and later the pace intercooler .. i've been cutting away some pieces.. and bending some others.. it wasn't a real nice site.. but it worked.. now we've grinded all the excess metal away. Removed the bonnet catch spoke in the middle (temporarily) and grinded some of the bottom panel off.. so it looks square.

then a plate will be cut into shape .. and be welded between the radiator-beam .. and the front panel .. This will serve as a kind of table.. to put the radiator and intercooler on.

The radiator will be hung on 2 identical brackets (i will use an extra standard bracket from a second radiator) .. and will be kept forward (for the T3 conversion) by cutting 2 holes in the 'table' and using the standard bracket .. and a second one for the other side of the radiator.

The Pace intercooler will be slightly modified (longer upper tube.. and mounting bracket) so it will fit the T3 converted rad perfectly..

The battery tray will soon be removed..

pics will follow.. the project keeps on going.. hope to have it 'finished' before FITP 2005

The front is being modded at the moment.
like said before.. but now with pics

This is just in the 'rough' phase...it will be grinded down.. an the result will be a smooth surface at which some rad mounting point will be welded to ..

My father in law to be has been busy again :-p

The piece of panel at the front has been welded in place.

the boot has been cleared .. and half of the underside has been 'painted' with a black underseal coating..

The car is nearly ready to be painted in a second layer of primer.. then sanded down .. and painted into colour (-:

can't wait to build her up again..
