MK6 fiesta engine conversion

Postby KINGHORN on Sun Jan 08, 2012 9:18 pm

Looking to possibly change the engine in my van. It's currently a 1.4 tdci on 100k and dieing.

I have been offered a 2004 Mondeo 2.0 tdci does anyone know what's evolved in the swap?

why would you need to change the fuel tank? there both diesels so can't see why? I'm not arguing te point just interested to the reason behind it, fuel lines I could only see being changed for a bigger size, I was always under the understanding that fuel lines n tanks on diesels never need to be changed and the pumps are normally on he block.. so would of thought it would be wirin and mounts like most conversions..

again just to clear I'm not saying any1 is or isn't correct just asking why? interested in this as trying to convince y mate to drop his 2l hdi pig engine Into a 106/Saxo after his 306 had been mangled

I don't think the tank has to be changed, should just be a case of ECU, Clocks, Wiring and Engine?
