mk3 project *320bhp @15psi*
Re: mk3 project *320bhp @15psi*
Right, I've decided that the "winter" strip and rebuild starts today!lol
First up is my front brakes. Now if you have read the full project you will be aware that I run 4 pot Alcon racing puma front brakes. These are a delicate caliper especially due to the fact that they don't run road dust seals on the pistons and from New the were not painted on the inside face prior to pad rail clips being bolted in....so corrosion is an issue.
Last year prior to being put on I rebuilt both calipers with new stainless bolts and clips etc, however I didn't have them painted. The corrosion was not bad, but was there.
So...this time they are off to the blasters before paint.
Some pics.

I'll drop them off tomorrow after I remove the pistons and seals.
Cheers for reading.

FRSJON :looking goodmuch else happening to the car?
Jon, I'm trying to find somewhere that I can do work on it over the winter and I'm failing!!the garage at my parents house isn't big enough and I can't afford to rent a small.unti.
If I do manage to get one then the engine & box are coming out. Crank seal needs fixed and new gearbox mount put on the wing and possibly new inlet and boost pipes...
But knowing me I'll get half of that done!!lol

Calipers dropped off today for blasting and powder coating. Pick them up on Monday hopefully, if not sooner.
New colour coming soon....

Not a happy bunny....went to powder coaters earlier. Guy looked at me as if I was daft when I asked for calipers back!
They were still lying in the bag I brought them to him in. Best be done tomorrow!!

Re: mk3 project *320bhp @15psi*
Been thinking over a couple of things recently and I think I'm going to sell a few parts from the car to get some money in my pocket for a change!lol I can change a few parts for slightly lesser spec parts and keep it pretty much the same as it is now.
First to go will be the seats, front brakes and the wheels.
If anyone is genuinely interested in those parts PM me before I stuck adds up for them.

Brakes etc never went anywhere!lol...new colour for them though!

New pads and clips to come when I get paid then back on the car, might even tax it and take it a blast.

I'm afraid the end is near for the fiesta, well in it's current guise. Due to work commitments and me needing to get on the property ladder sooner than I thought I will need to part company with it. It will be getting broken in the near future. If anyone wants to PM with request for parts for dibs let me know. At the moment everything will be going except for the shell(complete) and the full box conversion.
Thanks, Adam

Lee, thanks for your comments. I fixed the temp problem, I had the IC too high up and there was no airflow to the rad. I moved it down and inch and it ran fine after that, the fan was fine then.

Re: mk3 project *320bhp @15psi*
Thanks for your reply I'm just asking gathering info really as I'm hoping to go down the zetec turbo route at some point in the near future or when the cvh gives up. I already have an airtec stage 1 radiator but was unsure if I'd need to upgrade to the stage 2 to keep the zetec cool enough
