Idle problems on FRST

Postby FiddlersFRST on Sat Dec 31, 2016 9:49 pm

Hi Fellas,

I have a frst when on idle it runs fine, the problem I have is when you blip the throttle the revs hang for about 10 secs and then drop to normal but if I disconnect the iscv it revs ok. Things I have done are,
Brand New items are ISCV, CO Pot, Map Sensor, ACT, Water Temp Sensor, CPS Sensor and I have checked for air leakes, set the base idle and it is still the same.

Any help please as this is really frustrating me now.

Mark.

Everything is more or less brand new when the engine was built, breather is brand new. I used starter spray to check for leaks.

That actuallly sounds not too bad for a FRST tbh matey. They do kinda hang for a bit before returning to tickover but if she runs grand & drives fine id leave her as is, loads of us wish ours ran like that instead of the car dying on tickover

Have u tried another throttle position sensor ?
The contacts inside them do wear across the range causing issues - I stripped one down to find this out on my xr2i but then the sensor is no good once opened.
Try another TPS . And make sure your inlet manifold gaskets are good - any air leak will cause it to hang.
