Odd! Definately from a 2.0 zetec, not a 115ps 1.8 or anything like?

both 100% from a 2.0, the bottom cam matches bassboy's 2.0 exhaust cam as well!

the top one is broken, the bottom one one has surface rust, i'l stick it in the cleaning tank at work to bring it up as good as new, and throw it in this afternoon

So what exactly height and width was at your cams? And how did you measure it, where exactly?

Maybe it is a better way to know. If you 100% know that your cams is from 2.0L Mondeo.

Or maybe how can I measure lift of cam?

130 cams are different to 2.0l cams.
i was told that the exhaust cams in both mentioned were the same but the inlet cam was not.
i have had a few sets of 2.0l cams and 130 cams.
i have noticed there seem to be different types or shall i say different rings in different places on alot of them.
here is three i have at the mo;
105 spec N stamped on both inlet and exhaust

Image

2.0l with 90 stamped in inlet and the exhaust is blank

Image

130 spec with N stamped on inlet and D stamped on exhaust

I have compared cams from three different engines, Escort 1.6 '97 90hp, Escort 1.8 '94 105hp and Mondeo 2.0 '96 136hp. Made some measurements and came up with this:

1.6 intake ~43.8mm
1.6 exhaust ~43.8mm

1.8 intake ~44.3mm
1.8 exhaust ~43.9mm

2.0 intake ~45.2mm
2.0 exhaust ~44.5mm

When I was looking for 2.0 cams I got a few times offered cams that didn't differ from my 1.8 105hp cams at all.

There are various cams that were used in the 2.0 engine, i.e., there are differing part numbers. If I remember rightly, the 1.8 130PS exhaust cam matches that of one of the 2.0 combinations, and the inlet matches that of one of the other 2.0 combinations.

So therefore, even though a genuine 130PS set doesn't match any given 2.0 set, it would *probably* be safe to say that the 130PS cams and 2.0 ones are pretty much interchangeable.

Part numbers for anyone who is interested (to follow on from my previous post):

RS1800 (130PS) Cams

Inlet: 958M 6A266 CA
Exhaust: 938M 6A269 CB

Mondeo 2.0 02/1993 to 08/1996

Inlet: 938M 6A266 CB (No Match)
Exhaust: 938M 6A269 CB (Match)

Mondeo 2.0 08/1996 to 05/1998

Inlet: 958M 6A266 CA (Match)
Exhaust: 958M 6A269 CA (No Match)

I have to say, I think it's odd that the RS1800 inlet cam has a 95 year part number, but I can only imagine it was just replaced in some way, and that the actual cam itself is no different?

Now, that's a fair point!
Those that can, do; and those that can't, talk about it.

I have a 1.6 16v zetec, I know it is difficult tune this engine because of the thunderous small valves, but I have a question, what cams would fit of my engine for maxmim power, 1.8 or 2.0, I have 2.0 and throttle body mondeo and I want to put 1.8 injectors or 2.0 , can give you some advice ?

well i know back in 1998 when i was building up a 2.0l engine i noticed that the 130 inlet cams were different part numbers from ford than the 1993 mondeo 2.0l!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have had mant different sets of 130 cams and there does appear to be a few different types.
there seems to be some that have twin rings inlet and outlet and soem that dont.
i recon you cant got wrong with genuine rs1800 cams [ERRR] at the end of the day a 130bhp 1.8 has got to be more tuned than a 136bhp 2.0l!
but then were only talking a few bhp here, nothing really to worry about
