Re: Forged con rods williams ?
Hi mate this is a bit late but I have used those Williams rods,to be honest buddy it's luck of the draw with those they are made in china and don't have the same quality control as say arrow or cosworth etc but the price is tempting I had to have mine resized for the rod bolts to fit properly but one did let go in the end and destroyed a complete engine with it,I was told once that one set out of a hundred will let go these odds are accepted by the manufacturers but not much good to us the consumers unfortunately but you never know your luck could be better than mine
I lost an accralite piston, totalled a crank and block and smashed a head that was built by jamie going which was a work of art totally gutted but that was at around the 8.5k revs ?

Save a bit more and get PEC, cosworth or arrow. I know expensive doesn't always mean best but with some things it makes a difference....building an engine again because a rod lets go? I know I'd rather not especially after building my own.

Thanks for the replies guys. I did decide to go with the Williams conrods and mine also needed modifying to fit pin/piston ! I'm hoping for around 220-250 bhp and will only be using it to go to work and back so fingers crossed they ll do the job but I do know what you re saying, you get what you pay for.
