Any ideas whats the CR in 2.0 silvertop with Focus RST pistons and rods, using stock 1.8mm silvertop head gasket?

Silver top head gaskets are crap, you need to use a ST170 head gasket as ifs a MLS gasket.

If I remember correctly ST170 gasket is 1.2mm ... 1 mm compressed.

I found so much information for let pistons and almost nothing for Focus RST.
I am worried about CR ... the only place I can find someone says 9:1, but nothing is mentioned about head gasket. Focus RST use thinner 0.6mm MLS gasket and we hope this 9:1 is with that 0.6 gasket, so we can go lower with 1.2mm?

ST170 head gasket is a 4 layer gasket like any standard black top gasket... As you say, it's 1mm when compressed.

As far as I was aware, Focus RS rods and pistons in a silver top with a Focus RS head gasket (as you say, 0.6mm when compressed) produced the same compression ratio as the standard Focus RS engine.

However, if freak power says you require a 4 layer gasket, then I'd be inclined to go with what he says! *Roughly* speaking, the difference of 0.4mm would be, as I say, roughly 0.4 in compression ratio (if I remember correctly from my maths on Zetecs years ago!).

I'm pretty sure the standard Focus RS engine is 8:1.

After big power CVH was retired, car now running decompression plated 2.0 silvertop on t3/4 hybrid.
The plan is happy 350 @the engine, turbo is not specified yet ... maybe gt28rs.

Cylinder head work to the combustion chambers and machining the Pistons could give you the required compression ratio.
