FITP 2011 roundup
Hi all
Just got back from a very good day. Thought the stand looked good, plenty of people around and a good turnout. Shame about the changeable weather but that can't be helped.
Big congrats to Ryan for having the balls to have his curly locks removed for EA Air Ambulance, I have a feeling a lot of money was raised!
Good to catch up with everyone and good to meet the new faces.
Roll on Ford Fair!
I'll upload my pics as soon as I get on the computer.
Cheers
Nick

Was good to see you chaps at Birchanger Green on the way back. Sorry I didn't hang around - was very tired and achy and wanted to get the 60 miles home with that Zetec-S shouting at my ears over and done with ASAP!
Oh, and I believe £157 was raised by Klaus's head-shaving - good effort.

No worries Al, I think we were all feeling like that to be fair! I did see you a few times during the day but didn't have the opportunity to say hi!
Here's my pics from today. Not many, and an incomplete set of the stand, so sorry if I missed out your cars!
Saved the best till last. Probably the greatest sticker of the show.

Re: FITP 2011 roundup
It was a good day.Loads of good(and a few not so good) cars on display too!
I had a walk over to you guys but didnt really speak to many people as i didnt want to jump into the midlle of any conversations!
Plus i had 220 miles of trouble free plantpot driving. It was the furthest it had been to a show so i wasnt sure how it would behave

Was a great show, some cracking cars there. And a few dog rough ones as ever
Thanks to Wayne & all others for organising it, had a really good day.

Re: FITP 2011 roundup
Majorly tired!
Thanks to those who turned up and the co-operation from everyone. Special thanks to Paul for bringing the correct gazebo instructions And thanks to everyone who helped put it up, help keep the stand organised and tidy etc. Will invest in some new pegs to hold the gazebo down for sure!
Personally thought I could've done better with organising that back-left corner a bit but otherwise it looked pretty good
Hopefully see everyone for Ford Fair & Trax etc.

Re: FITP 2011 roundup
Nick,
Was a good stand, nothing to worry about at all - much better than most of the stands there. Most of the clubs managed a pretty crap showing tbh.
Re left rear, were you talking about where the gazebo broke free or where Ollie and I had parked ? Maybe a suggestion for more people to remain on-stand to organise the cars as they arrive and ensure they fit the stand plan as well as meet and greet later on? It was apparent that few people hung around the ft gazebo and there were a fair few more around the pf stand to the point that fcgb officials came round the pf stand for a chat as the ft gazebo was devoid of members.
I know comments have been passed in the past about new members not being welcome at shows but having no-one there surely looks worse than a large crowd people may feel intimidated by?
In any event, good job and I definitely enjoyed the day (despite the weather!)

Re: FITP 2011 roundup
I thought the stand looked great and you did a sterling job mate. Lucky Paul had those instructions and we managed to borrow a mallet, although the ground was rock hard anyway! I reckon those screw in pegs I mentioned are the way to go tbh!
It does get a little tricky to organise the later arriving cars tbh, there is always a messy corner on the stands
Ratspeed - I did see you and the car on the Fordsport stand, had a look around it first thing, lovely looking car, I want one! I didn't stop for a chat as you were talking to someone and I didn't want to interupt lol

FITP 2011 roundup
Was a good show and the stand looked fine tbh. The only real problem I reckon was that it was so cold and windy people either wanted to keep moving or find any kind of shelter they could. Hence not many hanging around in the gazebo.
Saw you guys try to put the sides on at one point then give up and take them down again, we've done that a few times in the past, lol. I reckon those dome shaped ones like Fordsport have are much better in windy weather, although there're also smaller and more expensive.
All in a great day though and good to see new cars appearing on the stand that we haven't seen before!

the gazebo was a proper fail, fair play to Burman for risking his car being tied to it!
those dome ones are cool, I'll look into prices and see what we can do...

Re: FITP 2011 roundup
The stand position was simply too windy for the gazebo to be honest! Further down the field the wind level was almost none. Kent Modified had the same with te BHP show at Lydden Hill the other week (the gazebo broke due to the wind!).

Re: FITP 2011 roundup
Was a shame I missed you when I strolled over to your stand, some quality cars and people I wanted to meet, hope these photo's make up for it:
On the way out towards the motorway
Starting the long cruise
Mid-way check making sure the new engine is holding out
A fiesta we followed into the show, caught up with them about 15 miles away
and now for the show!
The Twins!
The drive home
Quality show, anyone who didn't attend, you seriously missed out, half of these cars, pictures just don't do it justice.
So, Ford Fair?

Yeah, was looking dicey at one bit when the wind really picked up. There's a photo of me huddled up in my coat somewhere - was frozen. Took most of a can of gas just to make a cup of tea, wind kept cooling the kettle down.
Re the large stand pic; if anyone wants large prints (for framing) I'm happy to arrange for them using Jessops print services - the prints will be 75x50cm and £25 each including 1st class recorded delivery. Of this, just under £10 will go to jessops for the prints, about £3 on postage, around £3 on the packaging leaving a balance of about £10 which will go to the East Anglian Air Ambulance and be added to the total raised thus far through donations and Ryans haircut !

Agree with you there. The corner behind the PF stand was to have the line of cars circle around and join up to the gazebo but the "left line" went too far back in the end. It's a note I've made for next time to shout at people to get the cars displayed better I was thrown off a bit by learning how to build the gazebo too but we've sorted that out now hopefully!andymac wrote:Nick,

On the subject of the gazebo, in the end it really was a bit too breezy and the ground too hard to have it up. Most retreated to areas further forward on the stand which seemed to be sheltered more. The only reason I wanted to keep it up was because it would have left a big hole at the back of the stand then.
Already looking forward to the next shows where I aim to improve on those points

Nice meeting you Sam, it's always good to see new members getting involved. Nice rs you have too, lovely colour
The gazebo was a bit of a mare with the ridiculous wind. Putting the sides up didn't go well either, so most of us resorted to sitting in a more sheltered place behind the cars. Everyone seemed to have a good time, dispute the changing weather. Good show

Trick is to have one or 2 people organising the cars whilst others do the gayzebra imho.

You expected bloodshed? Noone said they were gonna hurt you did they? I spend the whole day with Shaun as my bodyguard, was pretty worried
I was not present for the pranking, but I heard about it, was bound to happen really dude! On the subject of your stuff for sale, the cd6000 seemed very cheap, is it the double din unit i am thinking of? As fitted to the Focus'?
If you still need the code for it, let me know the serial number and will get it for you.

There's supposed to be a reset code that works regardless of status - that could be internet BS though.
PM the serial no. on and one of us will generate an unlock code.

found this on another forum:
TO ENTER THE SECURITY KEYCODE FOR A FORD
Switch the ignition ON using the key
Switch Radio ON - Display Shows CODE with " - - - - " flashing
Press Preset Button " 1 " repeatedly for 1st Digit of your KeyCode
Press Preset Button " 2 " repeatedly for 2nd Digit of your KeyCode
Press Preset Button " 3 " repeatedly for 3rd Digit of your Keycode
Press Preset Button " 4 " repeatedly for 4th Digit of your Keycode
If the display now shows the correct KeyCode number then
Press Preset Button " 5 " to Enter
WRONG ENTRY
If a wrong entry is made , then the display reverts to CODE allowing another attempt.
After a third incorrect attempt, a 30 minute delay ensues before a fourth try may be attempted.
The display shows WAIT 30:00 with the time counting down to 00:00
